Oregon is very interesting because of the future of the NIL. Oregon could go NIL crazy with Nike money and be in the running to buy any recruit they need.
Outstanding point! Cause we all know MC has expressed over and over that THIS is exactly the kind of player he wants to recruit and the environment that he wishes to coach. NOW I'm worried.

I know all of the comments Campbell has made publicly and I know his name gets thrown around at pretty much every opening, but Oregon seems like a job he would at least legitimately listen to. Not saying he goes 100%, but it's an intriguing job.
I feel like some of you deliberately choose to pay zero attention to what Matt Campbell’s goals as a coach and in life really are.

So with CMC, what are people expecting and/or waiting for? Should we be expecting another contract extension or just some public confirmation from CMC that he’s staying?

Someone was saying how sleazy Oregon was, offering players drugs and women right when they arrive onsite, not seeing CMC wanting any part of that.

It's tough because we've been so conditioned to coach speak meaning absolutely nothing when it comes to changing jobs. To have Campbell actually mean what he says is so difficult to comprehend based on the peer group he has in his profession.

Wow what a statement. I pay very close attention to a lot of the things he says, but I don't assume that I know what he's thinking and what he feels are good jobs for him. All I said is if I were him, I'd at least listen because Oregon is an intriguing job. I get that he likes to build things. I get that he genuinely likes to be at Iowa State. I get that he won't leave for just anywhere. This isn't blind pessimism on my part. In fact, I'm rarely pessimistic as it relates to ISU athletics. This is just me acknowledging there are a lot of intriguing opportunities out there right now, and I wouldn't be shocked if he listened. Ultimately he's going to choose what he wants to do, and he's earned the opportunities that come his way. There have been a number of rumors from quite a few credible sources that Campbell has turned down some really big opportunities and has also come very close to leaving for other opportunities. It's not so far fetched to think he would leave, and it's not so crazy to think that the list of schools he would leave for is a tad larger than some think it is.

Why in the **** would they want Chip Kelly back?
I agree, as someone who grew up as a chip kelly era Oregon fan. This would be stupid. Chip Kelly relied on a gimmick. When he was at Oregon there was no rule that allowed defense time to change players during a hurry up offense. Now that there exists a rule that gives time to change players if the offense changes players his offenses don't look as strong.

Agree...he was a great coach in that era and certainly innovative. But it seems as though the game has caught up to what he was doing in that era and evolved to the point of being able to check that offense for whatever reason. He was magic at Oregon but hasn't recreated that type of excitement anywhere else. I would guess UCLA wouldn't be all that upset if he were to ask out to move back north.

The bolded doesn't make any sense regarding CMC.

Either that, or Oregon needs to acknowledge the football job is a revolving 4-to-6-year endeavor and chase Baylor’s Dave Aranda or Iowa State’s Matt Campbell with a blank check and the kind of support they might not currently have.

Aren't almost all of FBS college football head coaching jobs revolving doors? Campbell is one of the few who could be believed when he tells a recruit that he will be there when he graduates. Seriously, how many active FBS coaches have been in their current positions long enough to see a recruit graduate?

That post wasn’t directed only at you.

That said, you basically called him a liar in his “public statements”. Simple fact. And you are continuing to do so.
