Alright now I'm even more curious....a lot of people travel out of state for work -- meetings, consults, etc that can be from half-day to multiple days. Are they supposed to be withholding taxes from their home state/paying taxes in another as well?

The rest of Texas is great to live in. If you want big cities, you got them. If you want no neighbors for miles, you can get that. If you want small towns, they are numerous. If you want mid-size cities, they are also all over the place.

didn't he say the same thing about Michigan? And I don't doubt that its true, heck, if I had ever made it as a college coach at a bigger level I had destination jobs too but .... thats a little bit chicken before the egg.

And I mean.... how many college football coaches wouldn't be interested in being the head coach at Notre Dame, USC, etc. Maybe a couple? Saban, maybe Dabo, and ?

However, if Notre Dame offers Matt Campbell their head coaching position this go around, then at least three other people have turned them down

Rich people from around the globe are moving here (LA) every second and it wouldn’t be the case if taxes were actually that bad. If you’re rich owning property in socal only makes you more rich.

Honestly they need policy to deter rich people from moving to CA (foreign and domestic) because it’s the primary source of the housing price and availability issues. Lincoln Riley is not going to lose cash by living in CA unless he’s a moron.

It's funny the other week sirius xm espnu was talking about why there are so many buyouts. Pretty much they agreed that ADs aren't taking in account of fit of the job. ADs just chase the big names and don't account if the coach fits the school and the job. This seems like another one of those coach doesn't fit the job. If this hire fails it pretty much buries the job for a few years. You can bet all the SEC around them are licking their lips if LSU loses the recruiting hold on Louisiana.

It all depends on highly leveraged you are. And to assume the real-estate will continue to grow at the rate it has is unwise. California's infrastructure is inadequate and continues to become more so as it grows. California's tax base, though having an outstanding economy, must increase to accommodate the government's budget. There is a buckle in the road ahead. And if one is 'leveraged', that is going to really hurt. But, hey, I lived there in the 80's (real-estate was not good then) to 2015 so I can see how difficult it is to sell overpriced real-estate. But, what do I know?

I really think they're gonna hire Freeman. Recruits have been all over social media. Players have been in touch with admins. They all want Freeman. This is great news for ISU..

If things are going well, you hire from within for continuity.

You bring in someone from outside if things are a mess and you want change.

Freeman makes boatloads of sense to me, as an outsider looking in. Plus recruiting stabilizes at a very critical moment right now. Unless the AD just thinks he is not ready to be the head guy yet, or you can get Fickell WITH Freeman staying - that would be the jackpot probably.

Big issue there is so much of coaching, outside of the blue bloods, can come down to luck, good or bad. Working with 3 star players if you hit on a couple that produce you can look fabulous. Have a couple injury to key players or a staff member or two get poached, you can take a hit and have poor performance.

You can hire a Brian Kelly, but if most of his staff stays at ND, then you don’t know how the new coaching pieces will really click and mesh. A poor coordinator hire or one who doesn’t care to recruit can hamstring you. Why I like the Campbell situation where the majority comes with you. Lincoln Riley is taking a good portion of his staff. This tells me that this was done a couple weeks ago. No way he calls 3-4 of his staff and flips them in a couple minutes to go to LA.

LSU is a big enough monster that it’s more like a pro team. It’s the opposite of ISU basically. They need the biggest name to get the best recruits, then you throw your cards in. You aren’t going to build a team that can consistently compete with Alabama and Georgia around “5 star culture”. You need 5 star players there.
