The GREATEST value of internet dating for me was simply the experience. It was good practice. Set low expectations (the gift that keeps on giving) and have fun with it. Many of the relationships will flame out but hopefully you learn something about yourself or at least what you don't want in an SO. If you find one learning from it then I would say it's valuable.
Ya I don't think I need to learn about myself. I need to find women who aren't unreliable and can support themselves. Seems women at this age are either single with kids, crazy, or don't know what they want.

I deleted my previous post cause it wasn't relevant to this thread title. So, all I'm gonna say here is both my wife and I first married at 47. Right or wrong, there's a reason we both were single. And unless both fess up to their own short comings and are willing to work at the marriage, neither will ever be happy. Now if you're curious about my level of expertise at this level, I've got some very interesting data as the architect of a major dating service pre-internet.

Sure glad my oldest is cute, white and has blonde hair so that if she ever goes missing it will be national news. It's weird how much more publicity these cases get when the victim is young, cute, white and has blonde hair is getting hen there are thousands of missing person cases a year that get zero coverage at all.

That's what always worries me about our daughter, she's mixed (white & black, but has more black characteristics).

Media needs the ability to sensationalize a bizarre twist. It's not ratings worthy if they're just....missing.

It is a frustrating that the media will latch on to certain cases while completely ignoring others. Circumstances can obviously affect things but the pattern of young, white female cases getting more attention is unavoidable. Just look locally (Mollie Tibbets compared to Xavior Harrelson)

Classified ads turned into a Singles matching service. My matching algorithm was too successful; resulting in the failure of the business, because back then we couldn't solicit quality single people mailing lists fast enough to feed the program. To the degree you succeed correlates directly to losing customers.

I think this story grew legs because I saw it the weekend that the report (9/11) was made and the family spent a TON of time getting Fox lathered up to promote the story.

The avenue of speaking about mental health in some circumstances vs. others is also interesting.

In this current case, mental health will at some point be a focal point.

In the Tibbets case a whole other angle was used and I'll leave it at that.

The sooner we put GPS trackers on everyone, the better.
SEE-- Get vaccinated, people!!! :mccaffery: The Bill Gates chip can save us.

This is a J-O-K-E and not intended to challenge anyone's deep-seated feelings about vaccines, Bill Gates, chips, or even vaccinating Bill Gates (or feeding him chips).
