What part of the Star Wars story arc appeals to you the most? Do you care if the stories are considered "official" by Disney/Lucasfilm or not? I'd like to send you the three Aftermath paperback novels by Chuck Wendig about events after the fall of the Empire after Return of the Jedi. I actually, as a bad parent, tried giving them to my son two years in a row for Christmas, so message me if you're interested.

Unofficial or canon dont really matter. Just looking for a good read thats Star Wars based. This would be awesome of you and i will send you a message.

Lord of sith, tarkin, ahsoka, the new thrawn trilogy are all good. Aftermath trilogy is supposed to be good but I haven't gotten around to read them yet.

Haven't read Thrawn yet, but I agree on both Ahsoka and Tarkin books. Both those are great too.

I haven't seen anyone mention Lost Stars, but its the best of the new canon stuff IMO. It's listed as YA but its a great read. There is a romance at the center of it, but it never gets too cheesey IMO. Lords of the Sith is great too. If we're talking Legends you can't go wrong with Heir to the Empire trilogy. Still the gold standard of Star Wars novels IMO.

I always recommend the Thrawn Triology (or Heir to the Empire) about the period after Jedi, where Grand Admiral Thrawn ends up leading the remnants of the Empire and Luke and the gang are running around.

Totally not canon now but it's still a lot of fun.

Timothy Zahn was great, and those were a lot of fun.
The ysalamiri (sp?) were a great work-around for an Empire without the Sith floating around.
Was Mara Jade the other new character they introduced in that series?

Rumor is that Obi-Wan will be popping in multiple times into the Andor series

Pop in you say?

If you haven't seen Ray Park's (actor who plays Darth Maul's) instagram page, he has been posting a lot of stuff that clearly indicates he has been doing some filming as Maul lately. There is hints in there that him and Obi-Wan have an upcoming battle as well. I honestly was somewhat shocked by this, not from the fact that Maul could story-wise be making an appearance in any of the upcoming shows, but rather that Disney was willing to keep using Ray Park. For those who are unaware of the Ray Park background scandal/drama over the past few years, I'll let you google it yourself. It has stayed somewhat weirdly under the radar, perhaps maybe because he just isn't that big of a star. Lets just say I'll never forget one particular post popping up on my Instagram one day as quite an anomaly to what I'm used to seeing on there. Wasn't exactly real Disneyey.

They used him for some of the Maul modeling in the Clone Wars final season too.

Man, sucks to be the owners of this thing. Feel sorry for them. Wasn't that long ago there was articles showing it after being built and I was thinking how cool it would have been to own that thing. Sure wasn't built to last very long at all.

Anyone watch clone wars? I'm skeptical of an animated series. Is this worth a shot?

If your someone who wants to get to know more about the the greater universe and expand story lines, the clone wars is great to watch. The series is made up of story arch’s that last about three episodes. With that said, some arch’s are really great, while some not so much. For example, there is a story arch about the programming the clones got that made them obedient for order 66.

I’d recommend finding a chronological list from online and following that. The first 2 seasons, they jump around a lot, after that, the story arch’s played one after another.

I enjoyed both Clone Wars and Rebels. Go in accepting you aren’t the target audience. There are definitely light hearted episodes that’d make 10 year old me chuckle. The story arcs have great storytelling, and especially in Clone Wars you get the brotherly Anakin ObiWan relationship the movies could never capture

Also know that Clone Wars especially starts out really rough, especially with the fan-favorite Ashoka character. It isn't a little later into the series where both the show and her character find their stride. Clone Wars especially has some of the best lore building of anything Star Wars. I find the look of Rebels to be better, but the story of Clone Wars to be the best.

Yes, both are high-quality SW along with the original trilogy, The Mandalorian, Rogue One, and Solo. Both are the “prequels” to The Mandalorian.
