Sources close to the situation have confirmed that Pollard and Gibbs were unable to reach an agreement today. Apparently they weren’t on the same page as far as pay, which makes sense because I would imagine Jamie is wanting to bring in someone for less money.

However, my sources have told me Jamie is zeroing in on his guy and an announcement is expected by Monday, potentially even as early as this weekend.

"G-League coach making less than $100,000 unwilling to take millions from Power 6 college job".

That's an awkward flight back to OKC...

This might be my favorite "coaching update" post today.

Not to worry. Like I said yesterday, it is only a matter of time before CF blows smoke up our *** about how great of a hire TJ would be. That counts as steam, right?
Listen folks, GTO is in the know. Not everybody gets to be an Ultra Fanatic T4. It’s invite only. Show some GD respect.

I just want to know if he will live in North Ames and send his kids to Gilbert.

But where will his kids go to college?

At this point if TJ is the coach, I don't agree with what JP is doing by not just announcing it now. I am sure he wanted to wait until the end of the week, but that's not feasible after last night without the whole thing turning into a s**tshow which we are seeing.

Not the right fit on the weekends

We would be bidding against ourself considering he is likely getting fired next year at unlv
Nobody wants to address this. Is TJ even being mentioned as a candidate for any other jobs? Are any other forums talking TJ up? I know they were back in the day with Fred. Shouldn't that worry some people if, indeed, TJ is "Midwest Magic" when it comes to recruiting?

My guess is that they are negotiating the buyout. It's a game of chicken at this point. Neither side has said anything about it, if it weren't happening, one side or the other would have refuted it by now.

Here's where TJ and his UNLV Runnin' Rebels finished in the mighty Mountain West Conference......

Sorry, but if you are going to hire a head coach for a Big 12 basketball program.... you would hope they could at least finish above .500 going up against teams like this night in and night out. How will he do against actually good teams?

It’s pretty alarming to see TJ finish 7th when he probably has a top 2 talented roster in the Mountain West. What’s going to happen when he has the 5th most talented team in the Big 12? We all know what that will mean.
