I bet the announcement is tomorrow. Thursday always seemed like the day they would do it. But UNLV breaking the news threw a wrench into it.

Well..TJ wasn’t who I wanted us to hire but I thought the Bulls should’ve drafted Beasley over Rose at the time and was thrilled with the Prohm hire.

Nothing but support for TJ and Clones basketball coming from me when it’s announced..hope he becomes the greatest coach in ISU basketball history and retires here at 75

Them waiving the buyout so they could jettison TJ and make a run at Pitino would be very in-character for UNLV.

I look at it differently. If UNLV was willing to waive its buyout, ISU would have announced TJ as it head coach by now. If UNLV feels that ISU wants TJ bad, they can negotiate from a position of strength and get the FULL buyout.

Plus they can take the ISU buyout money and use it to buyout Pitino, Martin, or any possible existing head coach. Or use it to bump up what it can pay annually to attract a big name.
