So done with this job. Gotta finish that resume and start looking for a fresh start.
Saw a clip tonight of a super elderly woman breaking down as she was hugging her elderly son for the first time in a year.

Well just finished filling out my on line jury form. April6-May 6th, I hope there are a lot of out of court settlements that month.
I was on Federal jury duty last year starting sometime in February. The first two weeks I didn't need to go in then they cancelled it all due to Covid so I was relieved of my duty.
At least there was one good thing about Covid.
Hmm, never have been picked for federal. This is my 3rd time being in the jury pool.
So we got our first shots yesterday. The Webster County Health Department did a fine job - they vaccinated almost 500 people in just over 2 hours. They'll do it again today.
No side effects, other than my arm is kinda sore.

On a somewhat related note, had an appointment with my dermatologist (yeah, I hear you guys giggling back there!) and my BP was 124/70. Pretty good for a 64 year old whose family has a long history of hypertension.
Five times for me. Twice in San Francisco, three times here, Everytime I've filled out the form, I've been called in. Every time I've been called in, I've been selected (damned honest face, I guess). Two mistrials, two guilty and one took a plea deal before the trial started (but after the jury was selected). All five were OWI/DUI (in California it was OWI...operating while influenced).
Nah, you just answered the voir dire questions honestly. If you come off as radical (either side of the spectrum), you're almost sure to be dismissed for cause.
I need to start figuring out the Vegas trip.
The prior weekend we have our annual ride to York Ne. for the prime rib buffet. Trying to decide when everyone returns to Omaha on Sunday if I should just start heading west and take the scenic route to Vegas. That would be 5 days of just riding and looking at stuff.

I missed my derma appointment during COVID and haven't yet rescheduled. I have had several spots removed including one that tested "pre-cancerous" so I don't find anything to giggle about.

I've been lurking pretty regularly but haven't posted much. No key parties.
After much consternation and debate, we are leaving on a spring break trip tomorrow with my son, 3 of his friends, and their families to Punta Cana. We're not sure it's the best idea but we wanted the boys to get this trip in as a reward for their hard work.
Also, he has a new job. He's no longer a pizza genius. He is now freaky fast.

Oh, yeah. This would be ideal. They essentially want someone who can teach/has taught the US surveys.
Great pay, really good location for our family (especially kiddo). Benefits, retirement. We'd make more with this job than our current 4/5 put together. Chance to save for kiddo to go to college, too.
Basically all the stuff we can't do while we're here scraping by.
It was open for just a few days. It makes me guess that they have their target, and makes me hope that they didn't have said target before posting the job. But I usually have a flush letter already, so who knows?
But yeah, this is the best one I've run into in a long, long time, and a nice way to make a career out there.
I have dermatitis herpetiformis (related to celiac disease, which I also have), and rosacea.
