Lincoln Riley post game

Hold or not, that would have been an int. Young baited Rattler into the throw and was in perfect position. My favorite call of the evening was when an OU player kicked Hudson while he was on the ground after a PAT and somehow Hudson got called for unsportsmanlike.

the entitled whining from Riley and Rattler is a pretty good indicator of why OU is 0-2 in conference.

We will get an opportunity to know this kid in conference for alleast another year. You develop opinions, likes/dislikes of players as you go.

I think he is a very talented QB. I'm not sure I like him as a person particularly. We'll see in time.

A person complained yesterday in game Thread that we shouldn't be comparing him to Mahomes yet. Well this is one area Rattler is very un-Mahomes-like!

Agree 100% Mahomes was humble in college and still comes across pretty darn humble in the pros even though he shreds defenses every wk, he knows that it takes more than just him to get the W.

Well they are Oklahoma...and you know..., rules don't apply to them! Haha. I agree!

A "Sooner" is someone who homesteaded "sooner than the rules allowed." Pretty much like defensive linemen trying to jump the snap count. It's a very deep identity in the state. Who would take that as a nickname!

Mostly agree. It was a hold. I think the play on the ball would an incomplete pass if not for holding as the safety was ready.

I agreed with most of the calls made And not made. them play but wouldn’t let man on man PI go unchecked for OU (mostly 44).

OU, since Stoops, holds like crazy on the Oline, and with DBs. Make the refs call it is my opinion.... and the play calling for ISU allowed that to happen a good number of times.

I see this level of let them play at championship levels, so OU is used to it, expects it.

Did he say why he and his coaches stood on the playing field during every play and never received a sideline warning?View attachment 76236View attachment 76237
Good officiating would have given a sideline warning right away and then penalties thereafter. Since the officials did not enforce the rules in these circumstances, one could easily say there was not good officiating.

Yeah that's intersesting! Good question really.

I kind of thought that a Sooner was one that just got there sooner, or soonest. He had the right to the land. Now I see that a Sooner was really a cheat, one that jumped the gun.

Still holds true today doesn't it? Only half kidding.

Throw on top of that they were cheating to obtain crappy ground. That red dirt doesn’t grow a whole lot of stuff.

For the first time in my life, I expected ISU to win. They did and they were the better team. That call was pretty insignificant. They still had to score a TD and there was no reason to believe they would. McDonald, Bailey and Rose were causing them all kinds of problems.

College football has most of the truly innovative minds in football. The NFL has just a small portion of them. Most NFL coaches are retreads... guys that have been in the league for decades because of their reputation.

With that said, Riley is one of the best in all of football calling offense. Some of his schemes are changing the game as a whole.

With that said, he's a lot more like Kliff Kingsbury or Art Briles than a championship level HC. He should be in the NFL.

Plus, OU is struggling to recruit. They'll continue to beat up the big 12, but they won't sniff a national title while Lincoln is there.

Oh well they could be Texas. OU knows that so Lincoln is their guy as long as he wants to be there.
OU has the top QB in the country committed, and they’re hot on the trail of the top RB. How is that “struggling to recruit”?

Is it different in the ncaa than nfl? Isn’t the difference in the NFL between holding and PI if the ball has been thrown or not? Is that different in the NCAA? The ball had definitely already been thrown.
College PI is spot foul or 15 yds. Holding is 10 yds and automatic 1st down. The most legit holding happened early in the route. Still grabbing him a bit when the ball was in the air, but that was pretty minimal. I would not have been happy if they called PI, just because it would’ve been pretty ticky tack vs how they were calling it the rest of the night. Holding call would’ve been reasonable, but no call was fine too

A QB makes a team? You and Riley are on the same wavelength

They are a full step below the blue bloods of CFB right now recruiting defensive guys. Especially DL

Was Riley talking about how they got away with a worse pass interference in the end zone last year that won them the game? Nope, they are OU so they expect to get the calls to go their way.
Screw them, its nice for a change to see OU and UT eating some crow with their 4 and 5 star rosters. I would love to see neither of them make the championship game this year.

Also, this Rattler kid is really coming off like a whiny little *****. Has Brock EVER complained about bad calls? Seems like after any loss, Brock’s line is usually “I did this wrong, I did this wrong, I let down my team and the fans and I’m going to do this and this to get better.”
Players follow how the coach is. Coach is cool and collected the player is too. Coach is a whiney ass then the player will be too

I didn't see the kick you're talking about, but I did see the punch to the head by OU. Hudson did retaliate and kick the OU guy right between the legs. It always seems like its the retaliation that gets flagged.

If hold or pass interference was called on that play it would need to be called on 90% of pass plays in the game.

Anyone think the different way they are assembling officiating crews today is leading to the blue bloods getting less special treatment than in the past. The NCAA is attempting to limit travel for officials so they are more local. It seems like games all over are being called more evenly as the traditional are being broken up.
