Prince to resign from KSU

I'm not surprised but I was hoping that he would stay and drive the program the rest of the way into the ground.

As far as getting "Mcarney'd" I can't even fathom that Prince's players have 1/10th the desire to give hime a farewell present that Mac's did. If you watch Prince on the sideline it is clear the players and coaches fear him. It is like a mini force field around him. Nobody comes withing 5 feet of him.

Not only that, half the players are JUCOs that have only been there a few months...

dang it, just when I thought KSU had the perfect opportunity to return to their "glory days" of the 1980's, the Clown Prince quits

I wonder if he has any good recruits that we can steal? What am I talking about, Kstate only has underachieving juco's.

You know what that means, a long rebuilding project for the next head coach. He is going to loss more then half his team in the next 2 years. My prediction, K state will be the worst team in the Big12 for the next 3 years, if we don't beat them to that title.

YES!!! They have verbal commitments from a couple of 3 star linemen that had recieved offers from ISU as well. One on offense and one on defense. Go Get em Gene!!

Didn't Bill Snyder want them to hire one of his assistants after he retired?

Firing a coach after 2.5 years is probably going to limit the number of candidates who are interested in the job. Maybe they'll fire the AD too and bring in Bill Snyder (similar to what Nebraska did).

Any rumors on possible replacements yet?

Yeah, I hear this Dan McCarney guy is available. Has midwestern roots, many recruiting contacts, and is very familiar with the conference. He was so good that many thought he never should have been fired, so I would assume he would be at that top of any short list.

Now is the time to show everyone we're behind Gene 100%... meaning we need a decent crowd at the Mizzou game.

They should take the football recruits to the pregame. The running onto the field. Have them watch Leonard Johnson return a kick. Explain to them he owns the record for most kick return yards ever in an NCAA game. Then get them the hell out of there before they see what Mizzou does to us. Maybe take them over to Hilton and have them watch Brackins and boys put on a show.

That is how we need to treat the football recruits for that game.

Man crushes last until Gary Patterson takes a bigger job like Tennessee or Alabama when Saban leaves for a new job. What it's been 2 years.

Who's going to pay Saban more money than he's making now at Alabama?

The Raiders.

He could stay there a year and a half. Get fired. Then come back to college in the SEC and someone would give him more money. It's the Saban way.

If Prince does step down official today, I would hope that Chizik and his staff has already picked up the phone to this kid......

ESPN - Michael Bowie Rankings, Grade, News, Stats - College Football Recruiting 2009

One thing about stepping down at KSU is he will not have to endure the backlash that is recruiting and playing a lot of JUCO's the cupboard is not full and the backlash for talent thats supposed to be getting experience is not there. Good luck with your 33 jucos.....this team will go down before they make the rebound - mark my words!!!!

One other thing, where in the heck does all the JUCOS go this year?????

Kind of off-topic, but I cracked up big time at one of the signature pics in the "Prince to Resign" thread.

Honestly I think this is a great thing for us - they will probably suck for a while, and they'll have a new coach next season to amp up their fans so they'll buy tickets to the Arrowhead game. Best of both worlds for us.
