So this button popped up in my Pinterest this morning. I'm actually more annoyed that I'm a big enough nerd to have immediately seen the issue with it, than I am with the issue itself.

Latest word is that while we've heard talk of eventually seeing a Young Avengers movie, it will in fact be a Disney+ TV series, which honestly makes quite a bit of sense and maybe even more sense than a movie. The reason I say this is because most of the known characters who likely would make up the team are debuting on a Disney+ series in the first place anyway. Think similar to the Marvel Netflix series and their Defenders team-up. If this were to come to be, I'd say most likely candidates for the team would be Cassandra Lang, Ms. Marvel, Kate Bishop, maybe Shuri, and maybe She-Hulk??? Spider-Man would be killer on this team too, but that seems less and less likely as time has gone on.

Everybody knows Holland is a goldmine as Spidey a lot of smoke that there's still negotiations.

Apparently all our 80s and 90s favorite Marvel animated series will be available on Disney+ at launch. Man, I loved the 90s Spider-Man animated series, and it truly was that, combined with the Burton 89 Batman movie which hooked me on superheroes in the first place.

I got hooked in the 70s, and the attempts at TV were pretty rough.
90s X-Men, Spidey, and Batman showed that it could actually translate into something good, but the movies were still, well, bad, like Captain America playing carsick (twice) to steal a car bad.

So, that makes me want this service now. Come on, extra job, time to come through!

X-Men animated series is what hooked me on comics. To me, that series always felt "darker" than Batman the Animated Series. The storyline of Morph was one of the most troubling to watch as an adolescent, but it was also the most fulfilling from a character redemption arch. Not to mention building-sized robots snatching children off the street (Sentinels), an army of freaks living the sewers (Morlocks), and creepy character models like Mojo & Mr Sinister.

https://thegww.com/exclusive-marvels-new-warriors-is-dead-superhero-show-fails-to-find-a-new-home/

The latest report is that the New Warriors TV show Marvel TV has been trying to get going for a while now is officially dead. It was originally intended for Freeform and they had even shot a pilot for it, but not only did Freeform not pick it up, but other Disney outlets like ABC, Hulu and DIsney+ all took passed on it as well. Word is that the pilot was actually pretty good too. Regardless, this is another big hit for Marvel TV as they just can't seem to get anything going, while their brethren Marvel Studios keeps stealing their thunder. While there have been other rumored Marvel TV series in the works, as of right now, the only thing Marvel TV is currently left with is their "fearverse" Ghost Rider and Helstrom upcoming TV series on Hulu. There also is supposed to be further tertiary spin-offs from those two series as well. If it means anything, I am excited to see what Marvel TV can do with their "fearverse" and the creation of this new pocket in the MCU.

Not MCU related, but Peggy Carter actress Hayley Atwell has announced that she will appear in the next two(!) Mission: Impossible films.

Now, the latest rumor is that Marvel is considering eventually reviving all the old Marvel Netflix series on FX with the former stars as well. Also interesting is how this article isn't the first article I've seen lately talking about an improving relationship again between Marvel TV and Marvel Studios, which is really good to see. This is very interesting as to the possible ramifications long-term of a better relationship. Particularly, does this mean we will find more and better inter connectivity between the two? As for whether I like this idea of a potential revival on Netflix of the old characters? Sure, in general I do. However, I'd prefer it just go directly to Hulu than FX. I've just grown to hate any of the restrictions and rules that come with Network television, particularly all the episode requirement demands, length of episode restrictions, different audience metrics for renewal, as well as the structuring of storytelling around commercials. With streaming for your own platform, you can do whatever the heck you want as can be seen with what Marvel Studios is doing with their upcoming Disney+ shows. While FX is better than being on one of the bigger broadcast networks in those regards, it still comes with some restrictions.

Finally got to sit down and watch Spider-Man: FFH for the first time last night. I thought it was pretty good. The first hour I was kind of underwhelmed, as a majority of the action had been revealed in the trailers. The second half of the film was far better and the final action sequence would have to make a list of the 10 best VFX scenes in the MCU.
Jake Gyllenhaal was a pretty good villain and you can tell he enjoyed himself. I liked Homecoming better than this film, but it was still enjoyable.

Lets get to the fun stuff: after watching this film I have no doubt that Spider-Man will return to the MCU, but after he makes a brief appearance in the Sony-Verse. The ending of FFH, especially the first post-credit scene, did a lot for both Sony and Marvel in terms of world building:

The reveal, by none other than JK Simmons(I don't know how I avoided that spoiler), that Peter Parker is Spider-Man was actually great. It builds off the ending in Homecoming with Aunt May finding out, but also is a nod to Tony Starks reveal at the end of Iron Man. The entire film is building to Spider-Man taking over for Iron Man and now we get Peter Parker taking over for Tony Stark.

There was a brief line in FFH where Peter says something along the lines of "I'm just a 16 year old kid..." so they made sure to put his age out there. It's super convenient for 23-year old Tom Holland to step away from the MCU for a few years. I'm sure we'll get nods in the Sony films (Venom 2, Morbius, etc) that Peter Parker has likely gone under the protection of Happy Hogan and Pepper Potts. Maybe we'll see Tom Holland play mentor to a character like Silk or Spider-Woman and springboard those characters to prop up the Sony-verse. In Disney's case, the Phase 4 slate is already set for the next two years so there isn't a rush to get Spider-Man back onto the big screen.

I would bet that in about 3-4 years the Sony-Disney contract will magically allow Spider-Man/Peter Parker to re-appear in the MCU. This Peter Parker would be an older/more mature Spider-Man and would be the slam-dunk choice to be the next leader of the Avengers.

I like your thoughts. However, keep in mind that no Sony/Disney deal likely means no Pepper Potts or Happy Hogan anymore. They aren't the only one down that rabbit hole off limits the more you think about the separation of the two worlds.

Oh I don't think Jon Favreau or Gwyneth Paltrow are going to make an appearance in the Sony Films - I think Sony will take a page out of The Defender's series and broadly allude to those characters to tie the Sony films to the MCU.
