If you do decide to go under the knife, my advice is to be committed to your rehab. My MIL had it done a few years ago, and gave up on rehab a couple weeks into it. (It was "too hard".)

She's far worse off now than she was before the surgery - has to use a cane, and moves very slowly.

Been the rehab route before due to repairs of nerve damage in my arm...I know the drill. The more you put into it, the more you get out of it.

I have this LinkIn account, no idea why really. I don't even remember signing up, and it's signed up under a nickname of mine kinda so it is really odd. It's almost like it was partially filled out for me by a family member, but not from my house.

I will look at it maybe 1-2 times year, unless an email that is sent to me as an alert catches my attention. I was looking just this morning and it looks like there are some people that need to comment on every post that they see, is other social media like this? This and LinkIn are the only two things that I would consider I'm on for social media and LinkIn only gets checked a couple times a year at best.

Please give us a summary when you have time I listen to him on Saturdays driving between job sites. I like the part where people call in and tell him the best part of their week it always makes me smile.
It was a really great experience.
Very interactive with the crowd, and only a minimum amount of the production stuff (repeating things, clapping on que, etc.).
It was really focused on the 2020 race and the impending caucus. The 3 word summary was really, really good. I think Sam Sanders has his finger on the pulse of what's happening.
High point: Charity Nebbe running the game "Who Said That?" was side splitting.

sorta update on the future cousin for little man situation. Things got worse for SIL requiring surgery to save her eyesight (AND SHE HAD TO BE AWAKE FOR IT OMG OMG OMG) and I'm really concerned about her ability to keep her job and health insurance. Already burned through vacation time and I think started in on FMLA after surgery.

The interestinger thing is that they are still saying that daycare will be "free". How? Well brother told my mom (emphasis: TOLD) that she should be able to watch the baby one day a week, other grandma one day, and then brother will watch rest of time on farm.

My mind about exploded when mom told me that. First, he NEVER had this conversation with my mom of hey would this work. He's just assuming. And JFC, the other grandma STILL WORKS FULL-TIME with a job that is heavy on travel. And my mom has a life too. Also, you can tell how little time around babies these almost parents have had. Because the idea of carting a newborn around on a farm and expecting to get **** done while also caring for the baby is just ridiculous. And also ******* dangerous.

We're going down tomorrow for our makeup Easter and I'm curious if this will come up.

On a been there done that experience for you with farmers watching kids. I had livestock that I tended (no employees at the time so it was all me), just for an fyi incase it is similar. We started with a daycare center and then the MIL was offended that she didn't watch our kids because that is what she did so we had to switch. She didn't watch on Thursdays. The first year I was still fully employed in town but after the first year of the oldest I was full time farming, so I watched him/them on Thursdays at that point. It was a bear handling that. My mom could help out if I HAD to do a small errand on the farm, but I would not have him near any major equipment or livestock. You really can't trust them out and about and expect to accomplish anything until they are pushing the five year old mark, otherwise they will wander and not understand the danger of anything.

I know one lady that drives combine and has them roaming the cab like squirrels all over her, but I don't think that is advisable. I did it one day a week and during planting and harvest it would stretch me a little thin at times. I don't know how much help your brother has but he needs to figure he will be shut down for a good 7-8 hours of daytime potential work every day that he is supposed to watch them. Any questions feel free to PM, but I would highly advise no more than one day a week unless he is 100% grain.

Also, we had to pay our MIL it still wasn't free.

My brother does mostly fieldwork and then stuff like feeding cattle. I just cannot imagine how he thinks he'll be dealing with climbing in and out of tractors/hooking up equipment/dealing with a TMR mixer with a newborn strapped to him. I think they are just operating in fantasy land. Plus having the newborn just being strapped in all day with no opportunity for tummy time/actual interaction isn't good for their development either. Plus how will they nap?! You don't have to convince me, it's a completely dangerously stupid plan in my book.

and yeah - the idea that they aren't going to pay either grandma.......or even formally ASK them but rather expect this of them.........shaking my head.

Z is closer to six now and I still wouldn't want her roaming around a moving car let a lone farm machinery. She's curious and exploring and pushes/moves things.

Welp. We know which parent Lil man takes after.

This reminds me to check mine.
I met with the career services folks for the LAS College last fall. It was very nice that they told me I'm awesome, but the only advice at all was "robust LinkedIn profile," and that only because the guy had just done a presentation about that, so it was fresh in his mind to keep saying those 3 words.

Fun that @cowgirl836 gets to look forward to in a couple of years. Last night after dinner we went downstairs to "play" a little family ping-pong. Lets be honest that consisted of LilMissWx walking around on the table with a paddle, MrsWx attempting to help LilWx who slowly started to get the concept. At one point LilWx had to go to the bathroom. He comes back out picks up his paddle and we have the following conversation

LilWx: "I popped the bubbles in the toilet!"
MrsWx: "With your hand?"
LilWx: "Yup!"
MrsWx: "And you washed your hands?"
LilWx: "Nope! Who has the ping pong ball?"

So that was fun. I sprained my ankle a week ago and it is still hurting. Trying to decide if/when I should go see a Dr.
