KU HC David Beaty has been fired

Okay, I'll concede the two touchdowns. 14 points is hardly inspiring against a barely top-100 S&P defense.

I don’t know that we played that well but who cares if the points were easy or not.

Also, Nebraska is hot garbage and Ohio State did bad against them.

If you haven't noticed, blowing out teams isn't really Campbell's style. He gets a lead then starts working on things. He starts heavily rotating in backups. He's trying to develop depth and the best way to do that is in real games.

Should I be the one to point out that most good teams are successful based on individual talent and plays?

That doesn't seem sustainable when Montgomery and Butler aren't here. I know we all just think they will get replaced with someone just as good but that is far from a guarantee. The staff is going to have to do a better job going forward. We have the 70th rated S&P offense with a good QB and possibly the best WR and RB in the conference.

It takes a special kind of fan to ***** about a win. Who’s saying they don’t have people that can replace Montgomery and butler. Our quarterback is good but very young. He can get much better.

If they're that bad, then it doesn't say much about our performance.
There was a lot of second/third string guys getting action in the second half.
Re-al was warming up end of 2nd qtr so I was very surprised he didn't get some time.

Wasn't Long fired from Arkansas? Look at the state of affairs at Arkansas.

"Hey Brett, JL here. Remember how we tore up the WooPigSooie? We could chalk it up again and get cool matching new hok tatooes. Are you in?"

"Sure, all in."

"GREAT! When can you get to Lawrence?"

"I couldn't quite here that. I'm in Vegas, not Lawrence."

If/when the o-line reaches its ceiling, the running game will be even better.

They evidently think whatever Re-al is going to do is pretty important so I'm guessing they don't want to "waste" it in meaningless situations.

He gets 4 games this year.

Yeah, I know. What's your point? They could have run him out there in any of the last 3 weeks. They haven't which tells me they think it's really useful and they don't want to waste it.

I don't think it would have been a waste of time to get him some action Saturday. I'd rather he get some snaps in a game that is already locked before putting him out there in a big situation.

The flip side of that is it possibly won’t matter as much because we’re marginalizing their impacts by running a “next man in” scheme that underutilizes their talents, hence the lower ratings and draft analysis alluding to those two being better than their numbers.

I don’t see our offense dropping off too much, particularly if the line takes a step forward. Even if it doesn’t, we have seen the run game take a big hit without DM. He’s elite in getting what’s not there, but at the expense of sometimes not getting the little that is.

If they hired a coach like Les, they will have great assistants.

Will a guy like Les make KU football relevant? Maybe not, but it wouldn’t come close to the disastrous hires of Beaty and Weiss. They have been horrible under Beaty and only have 1 commit for next year and a upperclassmen heavy roster. The only way it could get worse is to also add getting caught cheating.

Les could be a great hire. But it sounds like some KU fans think it's guaranteed that he'd make them instantly relevant. There's no guarantee of that.

I tell ya, the kid SLINGS it. They weren't arching passes, they were darts.

Eh, I don't really care about that unless they know he's nervous. I don't want them to have some good stuff that they put on tape either, especially when we have some limitations and one really good series could mean the game.

I'm not saying they had to run anything special with him while he was in the game. Just getting snaps in a real game situation while running vanilla offense is a good place to start.

Maybe. I'd like to know what the thought process here is. It seems like they've been blue-balling the **** out of him here the past couple weeks.
