BREAKING: Feazell commits

Had Pitt, Bama, Baylor, and Miss. St. as committable offers.

People were excited about SDW but not everybody pans out. Also, SDW was up against Naz and Matt for playing time. I'm not sure of the timing on the transfer but we also brought Cooke in the year after he left.

Agree with all of this. Feazell is a good candidate for a solid rotation guy on a top 30 team. Thats nothing to sneeze at.

Yep. Recruiting is very much a hit or miss proposition. Just going with the available info, it's reasonable to think he'll eventually at least crack the rotation and contribute meaningful minutes. Good get by Prohm to keep the momentum going after landing Lewis.

Recruiting websites are fun but don't take them so seriously people. These "experts" and their rankings are not the word of God.

Nobody can project if a player is going to underachieve or overachieve at the next level. They're meant to give people an idea of how talented these players are. And everyone is going to have varying opinions. Woody was a top 50 recruit out of high school.

From the small amount of tape I've seen I think Feazell is a great pick up. I love how Prohm is getting bigs who already have the size, athleticism, and strength to step in and play immediately. Not saying they will, but they are physically able. (Solomon, Kasongo, Feazell, and Lard if he makes it). Many bigs need lots of time and attention spent towards improving their bodies for the physicality of college ball, for the most part these guys can solely work on developing their skills.

Feazell development is far from done, he has the skills to contribute. I will defer to the Staff's rating of Keshawn in their system over scouts projecting players in 4 years.

Though it has been a small sample size the staff seems to have a good eye of talent and identifying younger lower rated prospect before they blowup and get national attention. Feazell was the top priority for the staff this year and the convinced him to come to Ames. Cyclone fans will enjoy watching him play in Hilton.

Ideally KSF will be on similar path as Ejim 3 star stretch PF who exceeds his ranking and was a great Cyclone. Nobody debates his ranking now though I assume his CF commitment thread had the some of the same doubter posts.

I agree with what you are saying. But did you really just acronym his name? Already? And KeyShawn is the same name so no need for the S, even though it is capitalized in his name. ;)

I feel like CSP is looking at how Baylors gotten it done over the years and is following that blueprint. Bring in athletic big guys that can change some shots in the lane, heck he's even stealing recruits from the them! Great pick up and great looking class already!

this guy looks more Jon Motley than Georges Niang to me and I'm not even mad. We're going to be playing a little differently going forward...basically like A&M last season is how I envision our style. Maybe a little faster offense with a less pressurized half court defense to make the possessions work.

I am aware, but KF is also short for a certian FB coach over to the east. I don't want to associate those vibes with KeyShawn. If someone wants to find his middle initial I am game for using that too. KSF does have a certain flow to it IMO.:D

I brought up Cam Lard earlier this morning expecting a thread derailment but I was so wrong about the derailment topic.

247 sports has KeyShawn rated our 15th best recruit since 2000. That is 15th out of 59 recruits. Lewis is the 6th best recruit. Great start to the class.

It looks to me like KeyShawn is very athletic for 6'9". We haven't been able to land very many guys will his size and athleticism. He has the potential to be a real stud.

The sky is the limit if Prohm can take us to another sweet 16 or better. We certainly have the talent to do so. Our depth is just fantastic compared to last year. One more great year and Prohm solidifies himself a bonified D1 coach post-Hoiberg and the new recruit pipeline will flow quite well. Exciting time to be a Cyclone.

This is true if he holds up to his ranking. But history shows that a top 100 guy is much more of a sure thing than a top 150 guy. My confusion with people on here posting like he's a game changer is that guys who are marginal top 150 rarely become game changers (my initial search on this guy had a rating from 247 of 161). I think Sherron Dorsey-Walker was a very similar rating. I think his offers shows his ranking may be a bit lower than is justified to, so maybe we have a diamond in the rough.
But 2 very different players.

I've been a member here since 2006 when the site started. You can look it up and confirm. You don't have to call people a troll just because you disagree.

I understand very well how recruiting works as I've followed it for the last 13 years

If you look up the players Fred brought in they were a lot of 4 stars compared to the 3 star players prohm is bringing in. I'm at work otherwise I'd list them out for you. Do your homework before you call people out.

Who cares where you start out, it's where you finish that counts. Kentucky constantly gets 4 and 5 star guys, how many National Championships have they won in the last 10 years.

I really think we should have to past a drug test or an IQ test to post.
