BREAKING: Feazell commits

Crazy thing Rodman's antics in the day wouldn't be all that out there for today's standards..Would love it if one of our bigs has his tenacity on the boards..

I don't think a guy like Rodman gets anywhere near the stats he put up back in the 90's. He'd be trying to guard Kevin Durant/Dirk Nowitzki/Draymond Green types out on the perimeter on the defensive end and he would be such a liability on offense that you couldn't even play him IMO.

I disagree. Rodman was an athletic freak that would still be the best defensive player in the league. Imo. Which doesn't mean much.

I agree, he was a freakishly elite athlete, and strong as well. I think his tenacity is what got him all those rebounds and also what made him a great defender. He would more than hold his own defending Green and would get into Green's head, which isn't hard to do and likely cost GS the championship. IMHO, of course.

Rodman has 5 championship rings between the Pistons and Bulls. He was the NBA rebounding leader 7 years in a row. He always guarded the opposing teams best offensive player....Jordan, Pippen, Bird, Malone, Barkley, Kemp, Robinson...IMO you don't know what you're talking about.

One of the things I remember about Rodman before he went all crazy, was him on the Pistons playing defense on James Worthy from the Lakers. Worthy had a crazy spin move and Rodman stayed with him one on one, step for step.

This kid is very versatile but plays nothing like Georges, he's more of a stretch 4 than the point forward we had in Georges. If Prohm can lock down a PG with strong pick and roll skills, Feazell could be deadly as a pick and pop type of guy. He would also be a great compliment to a big with post up skills. This is a kid who the more I watched him play, the more perfect he seemed for our style of play. He's got legit '4' size but also has a quick shot and the ability to stretch the defense.

The bottom portions of teams now are a hell of a lot more talented than they were 20 years ago. That's just modern breakthroughs in supplements and training.

But also its more common to be soft and not care about defense right now, so it's hard to say how those players would play now.

It's just as big a question how today's players would transition to the game 20 years ago. Officiating is completely different now. Play was muc

I don't agree where everything is better now than it was 20 years ago applies to basketball. Officiating has changed the game.
I believe the 96' Cyclones would have beat the crap out of our 16' squad..The 96' Kentucky Wildcats would have beat Nova..and the 96' Bulls would be NBA champs. Supplements?..It was far easier to supplement in 96'.

Take football for example, so many changes to the rules and safety precautions with all the injurys because a lot athletes are just so fast and strong now.

Thought this was a basketball discussion.

Sticking with basketball, a lot of teams have gone smaller and faster paced. Why? Because it's so easy to find good athletic players now. It's not a bunch of big slow guys anymore.

The game HAS changed...but not necessarily for the better. You don't see many good 'back to the basket' 7 footers anymore. Ewing, Olajuwon, Robinson, Mourning, Mutumbo, etc..would all still be stars in today's game. I hope nobody doubts that, and they were far from slow and unathletic.

You just don't see many guys like that anymore though...blame it on lack of coaching (only getting 1 year of college coaching), aau ball, the idea growing up now that if you're a big guy, you should work more on ball handling and shooting 3's, etc...

The Dream was probably 6' 10" and Mourning was 6' 9".

Mutumbo wouldn't be a "star" in any era.

Olajuwon was 7'0' and Mourning was 6'10''...that wasn't the point of my post though.

Olajuwon was 7'0'' and Mourning was 6'10''. Dikembe was 7'2'' and an 8time all-star which makes it ok to classify as a 'star' in my book, but to each their own.
