i still don't understand why this is all a problem? what changed? why can't people just live and be happy.
U of Texas exists. F'd up the SWC.
Now on the chopping block - the Big XII.
Killing Major Conferences - it's what they do.
Texas and OU cracking skulls is what's best for the long term health of the conference.
Because the Big Ten just signed a new deal that will get their schools in the 50-60 range starting in 2017.
The ACC signing a GOR until the mid 2030s is what changed.

This is a big part of why I don't want to invite Houston. They are mortgaging the farm in the hopes on an invite. That should be discouraged, not rewarded.
If the league takes two, I'd vote BYU 1, Cinci 2, UConn 3 and Houston 4...in that order.
They are not fighting like children, they are fighting like 2 competing corporate giants trying to control the narrative.

The rest of are Shasta,7-up, Hy Vee cola in their world. Last thing we need is another school to owe a debt of gratitude to OU or Texas.
Texas Tech, KSU, ISU, better hold their ground on this GOR thing. Or say screw it.
Last thing those 3 schools need is another school at the P5 trough should things ever move into 4 x 16 team leagues. Need this thing to be solidified til 2035

I agree with most of what you're saying, however I would substitute Texas Tech with West Virginia. Unfortunately, I think Tech is going to do whatever Texas tells them to do.
Fun doing all the what if games and predicting the future, etc. But:
Does anyone know if there's any kind of a timetable on deciding to do something - expansion wise - or not?
In other words. Will we know by 1 September (or some other date) if there's expansion or no expansion? Or will this constant state of concern and flux continue forever?

Based on everything I've read.... I cant disagree with that. BYU is number 1 for sure. So when do the higher ups pull the trigger?
If we've learned anything it's that Big 12 expansion-implosion talk never ends. They could take the GOR to 2050 and we'd still have Big 12 realignment talk.
It's the curse of our conference
A couple of weeks ago there were some reports that the member were hoping to have a decision to be made and extend invitations prior to the start of this season.
That said seems a little optimistic to expect to get word in the next three weeks in my opinion.
So now big 12 needs to do the same. I just don't get all this sky is falling mentality.
You don't just snap your fingers and sign a contract for cable companies to pay you what you want.
