**** THESE REFS

The last sentence of your rant was the only part that makes sense. You don't realize it but you only see what you want to see on TV. Iowa State of all people this season should not have a problem with the officiating. You have been called for the least amount of fouls than what, any team in the country? There is not one loss so far this season that cyclone fans should blame the refs for.

The reason that we don't get called for a lot of fouls is because we don't foul as much as other teams in the country, especially in the 1st half because we don't have the bodies. Did you watch the game last night?

I did. And as a referee myself I saw maybe 3 times where I could've disagreed with a call. I don't think if you flip those 3 instances Iowa State wins. I wouldn't even say I am a great official so I will never talked badly about a guy who is referring Div. 1 basketball and has 20 years of experience doing so getting paid $2,000 a game. They are where they are for a reason - they are good at their job.

They gave up nearly 100 pts in 40 min. The college game is a quick game, it was not the officiating that lost Iowa State the 2 games against WVU. It was themselves vs. the play of the other team.

Are you a Kansas fan or who is your favorite team since you clearly don't like Iowa State.

Mr Higgins can you please tell us why you hate Iowa State so much? That would be great... thaaaanks.

I don't dislike Iowa State in the slightest. I lived in Ames for 4 years and love the town and have many friends that still live and work there. Many friends who work for the University. Not to mention my wife and father are both ISU grads. Sometimes you diehard fans need to just get a clue. Its not everyone is out to get your team, its that your team just isn't as good as you think they are. You are 19-9, probably a 4/5 seed. It could be a lot better, but it could be a lot worse.

Again, not really what anyone is saying.

I agree with this. You still didn't say who you're favorite team is though...

Which is why this is mind boggling. How could the team that's top ten in most fouls per game have fewer then the team ranked 1st in fewest fouls. 14 is five fewer then wvu's previous season low. Just seems like bs. IF you can't see the issue, you are either an idiot or willfully blind.

So you thought ISU committed 3 more fouls than WVU before any intentional fouls? I would guess you are not a good ref at all.

Just once I wish the refs for a WVU game would grow some ******* stones and start calling every single foul. Every single one. WVU would have 3 or 4 starters in foul trouble the first five minutes, and then maybe, just maybe they would realize they should STOP FOULING so they don't get run out of the gym with their starters on the bench. If they're going to dare the refs to call a ton of fouls, then do it. They would learn really quickly that they can't sustain it.

And T up Huggins when he gets all crazy. Use those tools to discourage that behavior.
Or let Niang near his nuts. I guess that would work, too, and maybe be more entertaining for all of us.

I went to a Grinnell basketball game a couple years ago where one of the refs did this. I like watching Grinnell play (in real games, not those fake ones they set up to break records), but it's undeniable they foul on every play.

This one ref called a foul almost every time down the court and Grinnell ended up losing at home to a terrible team by about 40 points. I'm kind of surprised there isn't a ref out there who would do this to WVU.

I was not a fan of the officiating last night and seems I landed on the WVU board. However, they are not the reason we lost the game. I did want to make one note. I lost it in the pic when they called Nader out of bounds right in front of me. He was not and practically all the WV fans around me said the same. I hate when Matt and Nader step out every game. Now I am not so sure they have been.

If the refs suck they suck. They made some bad calls with maybe 5 minutes to go that killed us.

He lets the teams figure it out, lets a lot of things go most likely.

You're probably right. I view this type of ref as one who doesn't know the details of the rules of the game and doesn't care because they'll just call what they feel like regardless of what actually is or isn't a foul.
