Blowout loss to Baylor, Rhoads fired?

A mid-season firing for losses alone (without a circus of player walk outs, some kind of character scandal, etc) is probably a bad idea for a school like ISU as it sends a message of impatience in a place where a new coach is going to need patience. Wait til the end of the season, and let him go.

This is what happens when you get your head kicked in for 3 straight years.

I get what you are saying, but I think "patience" isn't quite the right word. Although I'm drawing a blank on the right word. I think it's something closer to "respect".

I'm not convinced he still won't be here next year. Guy certainly isn't coaching like his job is in jeopardy.

Yes. Impatience. If there is one thing that ISU is not, it's impatient with the football program as the fact that he is still coaching here this year attests.

Keeping him till the end of the season proves that ISU is fine with double digit loss seasons and that having one doesn't shorten the noose until the end of next year.

Well, history is not on our side, idk I could be wrong, but a lot of the donors think that Paul is a good guy, which he is, and thats all fine and dandy, but when that "nice guy" can't win a friggin football game, it's time to cut the strings. I just hope the donors are getting tired of the product on the field.

Also, what makes anyone think that JP would fire a coach, people remember the GMac situation? He was going to give him another year. Thank you again, Oregon for taking Altman.

You act like this is completely Pollard's decision. Its not. Leath and Donors will force JP to get rid of CPR.

There were quite a few people willing to give him another year with what we brought back last year, esp. on D. However, there is no excuse for this year. Support is gone, and a change will be forced.

I'd kinda agree with you here, but that could also mean he's already been told that he's going to be out at the end of the year.

If I was the new coach, I would ask for a fair ten year contract with a nice buyout as it is a coaching graveyard.
