Ugh, I just got guilt tripped.

The husband is turning 40 in less than two months. His actual birthday is on a Wednesday....the following weekend he's working both Friday and Saturday evening. I could get something together in Des Moines that Sunday, but I'm pretty sure only family would be able to make it. Even then, not all the family he'd want to come could come. Almost all of his/our good friends live in eastern Nebraska, Illinois, or some other far flung reaches of the US.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Do it the weekend before?

I pay to keep this ******* site free for the rest of you m'fers. I hope you appreciate that.

I'm not seeing a whole bunch drug ads in the side bar that Texa$ money must not have cleared the bank yet.:)

Sara, is there an alternate weekend you could pick and a place centrally located that would be easier for everyone to meet? Then justhave everyone get together and do something fun.

Rev, nice to see you posting again, hope Z gets back on schedule for you. What is torn up on Duff that is making traffic so bad?

yeah Sara, I'd try picking another weekend. Possibly a location that works better - even if you didn't do something until like Thanksgiving if that means people would be in town and available.

Thursday evening is the new Friday even so I am randomly rambling.

I am a little bummed out for Cstruck and worried about Lizzie the dog.

WTF regarding the way people dress. Went to Pittsburgh Blue, fairly upscale and not cheap establishment tonight. As I am walking in there is a family entering and mom is wearing a hoodie and baggy sweats. I think, "Really?". Then I go into the bar and see several people in hoodies and a couple dudes in T-shirts (example "Caterpillar" t-shirt). I set down next to nicely dressed gals and look across the bar at three couples. All of the gals are dressed up for a nice place but hubby #1 is wearing a t-shirt and a Twins pullover jacket, hubby #2 is wearing a Titlist golf cap and a Nike pullover jacket and hubby #3 is wearing a TaylorMade golf cap. WTF? It ain't a ****in' sports bar, at least take off your damn cap.

It's single malt scotch season just so you all know.

Bag of apples provided by co-worker is probably going to end up being apple crisp and just add to my rhubarb belly fat.

It's always scotch season.

Weekend before my parents are in town...which maybe could work.

Thanksgiving...no. Remember, much to my chagrin, I'm in retail. Husband also has to work Black Friday evening.

I'm thinking this weekend I'm going to have to lay it on the table for him about the logistics of it.
