A lot of people saying that we need to continue with Fred's style of coaching. I agree. It was effective and the players we have are built for that system.
One problem I have with Prohm is that his teams have had a very low assist ratio. That is indicative of a lack of passing and crisp ball movement. Another issue I have is that Prohm's teams have really struggled on the Defensive Glass. In the physical Big 12 that is a real issue. I really think that Prohm would have a lot of struggles with the style of play in the Big 12 and adjusting to it. It is not Ohio Valley Conference basketball.
IMO, Underwood would be a better choice than Prohm. The guy knows the Big 12. He knows the landscape. I would take him over Prohm and and Drew.
I also think Otzelberger would do well. He is only 37 years old. But has a lot of exposure to high Major Basketball and knows what is involved. He is used to the crowds of 14,000 plus and coaching in front of them. And the physicality of the Big 12.
Altman, Otz, Underwood. All would be good. Altman a homerun hire. The other 2 are really underwhelming IMO.
Sort of agree. Prohm might be quite good, but he had a couple horses he was able to ride to much of his win total the last couple years. Low assists could point to that as well. At the P5 level there is a lot more talent than what he was competing against.
