If he were a realistic candidate, Dana Altman would be on the top of my list. Maybe just ahead of archie Miller.

Outside of the "other candidates" at the bottom, i wouldn't be upset with any of Randy Pete's list.

Excellent coach, but Pollard has to know he's going to hear "McDermott, part II" 18.5 billion times, deserved or not.
TJ may be our Brad Underwood. Will he have his lumps getting used to the top position? Yes, but that's part of the process. I know next season has great potential, but let's be honest, as soon as Fred decided to leave, the upcoming season immediately became less certain.
I don't want any "lumps" learning with the best team in ISU history.
I don't get the "excellent coach" narrative with Jacobson. I realize in a mid major conference you're going to miss the NCAA tournament from time to time, just the nature of the smaller margin for error but only 3 NCAA appearences in 9 years for a program that was in pretty decent shape before his arrival. Not calling him bad by any means but I've heard quite a few people call him excellent or a great coach and I just don't see it in the results.
You're going to have perceived "lumps" no matter who we bring in. You think a mid major coach brought in to run a top 10 team, against the likes of Bill Self and Lon Kruger, is going to be flawless?
So many idiots on twitter saying #teamotz without knowing literally anything about the guy or if can coach a top 10 team. Pretty laughable.
Half the time Fred's "great adjustments" were to let them play street ball. Well duh, I wish I could make $2 mil a year making those adjustments.
Good coaching is knowing which half of the time to do that, and which not to.
