Walking Dead

The Flash is awesome.

I agree.
The season opener of The Walking Dead this year was a slow enough start for me. It doesn't sound like things have picked up, whereas the Flash is pushing some boundaries week after week.

I get that the Flash thing was supposed to be some kind of insult, but there shouldn't be something insulting about liking something different.

Michonne heard it too...

Yeah, you are correct. They kinda hinted at that with the clear picture of her window rolled down but she also mentioned it on Talking Dead. My guess is, as someone else said, there was a little more time between that scene and when they actually entered the gates and in between there they rounded up the kids.

Great point... I wonder if they didn't recruit them to be their protection. Rick and company have quite a lot guns and experience in combat. Maybe their city is about to be under attack. From the Wolves people?

Yeah, if these guys are kosher, then I have a feeling everything will go to crap when the Wolves are at the door.

I didn't think about them wanting Rick and Co for their toughness. That makes a hell of a lot of sense. These guys seem to have made themselves really secure from walkers, but they seem soft. Aaron freaked out when the walker **** hit the fan. He also freaked about his partner being in danger.

Rick and his crew are hardened and have survived a lot.

It WOULD have been pretty dumb for them to let in a bunch of strangers, with lots of guns, that they don't fully trust yet, and have a big group of kids playing by the gates.

This brings up a question, where are they getting all their ammo? They used alot in this show but I don't remember seeingn them stock up at any time. Oh the majic of TV shows !!

A better question is how they're able to just pick up vehicles that are still able to start - many have not run for months so the batteries on most are likely shot.

And where do they get their gasoline?

And the tires should be shot as well after two stationary years exposed to all weather.

I wonder how they pump gas, get diapers, etc. and then I think, well I have bought into these zombies apparently being able to walk around forever so maybe I shouldn't sweat the details.:twitcy:

In the preview for next week they didn't show a single other person outside the group in Alexandria.

I think it is interesting. My guess (hope), like others, is that this community is pretty "weak". Maybe lots of women/children. And Rick, et al, will be the necessary muscle when the Wolves show up.

I am starting to get more and more chuckles each week:

- How does Aaron manage to tail the group, get ahead of them to set out water, listen to them, etc when they are walking on a road and he would have to be in the woods? How would he have skills to avoid Daryl?

- Still get a kick out of tornado conveniently wiping out every.single.walker while leaving barn unscathed.

- Unlimited ammo for Aaron's gun?

- Still manage to find cars that run? Please.

- No sentries at the community? Weak.

Oh well, still enjoy it. Like GOT, cool to watch as a show that is willing to kill off major characters at any time.

In reality, I think sources of gas would be incredibly valuable, so some of the groups would resort to fighting to control them... like Mad Max! There would basically be whatever gas is available in the underground storage tanks at gas stations, and whatever they can get from cars on the road. Once that is used up.... well I don't see any tanker trucks showing up to refill the tanks anytime soon. I've always assumed they got by on gas with a combination of siphoning it from broke down vehicles, and raiding gas stations.

Diapers though - that will be easy. Go into any big box store, and there will be tons of diapers available... and almost no demand for them.

I always end up sitting awake after watching the WD and my mind wanders. One that always gets me as I see my wife asleep is... how could you ever fall asleep with anyone else in the room with you. What if someone had a heart attack and died next to you. You'd be SOL. What if they choked to death eating crackers or something in bed?

How can you go to sleep now with that same possibility. The only difference is that you won't wake to them eating your brains.

Lots of fuel would just be setting in storage. Walkers ain't burning any! If it were in the midwest there would be lots of bulk gasoline and diesel fuel left after the **** went down. Even if only half capacity my dad's old fuel bulkplant would have had 10-15k of gasoline and similar for diesel. Similar and multiple storage in most small rural communities with all of the rural deliveries that are still local origin/destination. Plus you have fuel at every farm.

I'd be putting a big tank in the back of a pickup and have a convoy with me but it's better of the story to move from one broken down old car to another each episode. :)
