Walking Dead

Yeah, that actually had tons of plot and action. So, what is going to be the deal with Alexandria?

Seems like these guys went recruiting a long ways away from their base. They have to want something that does not bode well.

I automatically didn't trust the guy because no one can look that clean and sharp in the zombie apocalypse. Now it all makes sense.

I find it odd that they never readdressed the new guy's answers to the 3 questions. Michone was beginning to doubt the guys story, and then remembered that no one had asked him the questions. He answered them, but they were rudely interrupted by a herd of walkers.

Also, I'm curious what kind of answers they are looking for. It's obvious that a stranger can lie about the answers, but what exactly are the looking for when they ask those questions?

I thought it was a great episode... it was suspenseful ... you saw the group acting like a group more so than Rick just leading.

IMO, it setup what could be a great end for a season.

EDIT: M asking about pictures of their people was perfect .. and his expression while trying to answer was concerning. We will see... the group proved they will look out for you in saving his lover... how far does that get them?

Two filler episodes in a row. I love this show, but the pacing can be a ***** sometimes.

Maybe you should look up what filler episodes are. I feel you are confused. Introducing a new major character and new arc is hardly filler. Maybe you should watch flash, I feel that might be more your speed.

Great point... I wonder if they didn't recruit them to be their protection. Rick and company have quite a lot guns and experience in combat. Maybe their city is about to be under attack. From the Wolves people?

Yes, that episode was the opposite of filler. Tons of plot movement and lots of action. And the episode before that was necessary, frankly the show would suck if we didn't see Beth and Maggie's emotional struggles after their losses. It would be less of a drama.

Something that bugged me...they could hear the children clearly from outside the gate, yet when the gate opens and they walk in, suddenly no more childish voices, and only one lone guy to greet them. Otherwise, the area looks abandoned. Even if the children were hidden behind another wall, you should hear their voices even more distinctly once inside the walls. Makes me wonder if it was a recording...to relax newcomers, to get them to lower their guard?

Good catch, I hadn't thought of that. Could be poor writing(the accidentally driving into a group of walkers on the highway and the classic "Oh no! Car won't start" things are getting a little old) or maybe they rounded up the kids before letting the new people in, for their protection.

I think it was just Rick picturing life behind the wall.

This brings up a question, where are they getting all their ammo? They used alot in this show but I don't remember seeingn them stock up at any time. Oh the majic of TV shows !!

I guess my point is that you could have combined both episodes into one. I guess "drawn out" is more what I meant than filler. The point is that the pacing of this show is wildly inconsistent and my guess is because they seem to have a different director for every episode.

Some episodes have way too much going on and some have only one important thing happen in a whole hour. Think of Beth's death episode for example. That was very rushed and almost felt like a lot of stuff was missing in between (like Rick's group setting up the meeting with Dawn's group). On the other end, last week's episode with Maggie and Sasha's struggles should not have been an hour long.

I think that would have been a bad episode, combining those two plots instead of letting them breathe. Also, most all hour long dramas like this use multiple directors (Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, etc).

How do you define the "one important thing"? Are you just talking major plot movements? I think characters moments and development are very important too. In this episode, alot happened, both plot and character wise. If you cut that episode in half, you lose all the drama of the group trying to decide if they can trust him. If you lose that, the episode is just a shallow recounting of traveling from point a to point b.

I think it was just Rick hearing what he wanted to.
