Last Place Free Throw Defense

I'd like to think that a drummer absolutely going off out of sync and the band playing really terribly out of tune would be a distraction. Just make as much noise as possible. Is that legal?

Making noise with instruments during play (including dead-ball, i.e. free throws) is not allowed.
I also know from personal experience it is not appropriate to play Three Blind Mice on the piano after a bad call (even quietly).

I would think having just the left or the right get up, the other side sit down. Throw off the balance in their mind.
Another would be to be as quiet as a home team FT, maybe get a a few hecklers randomly.
A slow wave behind the basket, front row to back, left to right...

How about just be mother ******* loud? Just a thought. Keep it simple!

Why do you think Gessel missed 2 FTs last year? It was LOUD.

My son was in the pep band last year. He hated the chants, and I think most of the band didn't like them either. But they basically get told what to do.

Let's be clear here, there is no way any free throw distraction makes even a half a percentage difference over time.

The only time I would say there's a difference would be in very high pressure situations when it's very loud like Gessell's choke.

There is statistically no difference in FT% at home compared to on the road over a large sample.

This is true, my desire to change it is just that I've hated that "greasy bowling ball" crap for over 20 years now. I don't think it'll actually help the team's play and I think having the highest opponent ft% is pure luck. It would help most of the fans enjoy the game more.
