Looking for new music

I don't listen to the radio much so it's kinda hard for me to find new music. So, anyone have suggestions? I like a lot of different kinds of music.

Don't like:
New Country (i.e. - pop music with a cowboy hat)
Pop
Hip-hop
Hard-core rap
Jazz - i've tried to like it but i just can't

New(er) music I'm Currently listening to:
Seether
Breaking Benjamin
Foo Fighters
Chevelle
Rise Against

Older favourites
Metallica (pre-90s) - actually, most 80's "metal"
Jane's Addiction
any "classical" - don't know much about it but it's great to listen to while working

Seems like you need to look through the albums made 10-30 years ago that you haven't heard yet to find "new" music you will like.

Check out Jim Matheos' First Impressions or Away with Words(Fates Warning guitarist) very mellow acoustic guitar w/cello..I also listen to alot of Satriani, Ben Folds Five and Five for Fighting at work.

If you like 80's metal check out some newer Euro-Metal bands like Iron Savior, Primal Fear, Jorn and/or Masterplan, Vanden Plas (prog), Brainstorm, Thunderstone...there's a million as metal is huge over there. Also some American bands: Iced Earth, Astral Doors, Tokyo Dragons, Jacobs Dream, Benedictum(unbelievable female singer).

If ya like "AC/DC-ish" stuff check out Airbourne and Rhinobucket..

If you missed these bands the first time around, check out: Diamondhead, Armored Saint, Riot, Crimson Glory, Dream Theater, Leatherwolf, Metal Church, Savatage.....and yes-I'm a bit of a metal-head but I have some ABBA too!

New Music isn't Garbage just don't pay attention to the songs you hear on the radio or MTV2 or even TV in general those songs are just made to make money check out the internet ie: Itunes Myspace Yahoo for some awesome bands that get no radio or tv time cause they are not backed by the ridiuculous record industry

Picked this one up recently...Its a really good CD.

I give it :wink::wink::cute:

Only a half-smile?? It's one of my favorite CD's of 2007!! I think "Don't Make Me a Target" is my favorite...

I would highly recommend BRMC (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club). My new bride dragged me to a concert, and I was thinking......who? Turns out they are really very good. Kind of a heavy blues rock.

Shiendown, Trapt, Sevendust, Incubus, Audioslave, Future Leaders of the World, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Evanesence, Tool

Rating scale
:dull: I dont like wine & cheese party's either
 I see why you like it but its not for me
:wink::wink: Hey Hey good stuff
:wink::wink: Better burn a copy and and put this baby away
:wink::wink::wink: Better buy an extra copy and never unwrap it.

:cute: bonus points

If you want to listen to one of the better if not best songwriters of this generation, you should check out Ryan Adams ...no not Bryan Adams

If you can ignore his arrogant personality he has some great stuff

Whiskeytown is better than some of his solo stuff, although Heartbreaker is excellent. He has been hit and miss on some solo albums, but his latest, Easy Tiger, is excellent, too.

Pearl Jam and Petty are two of my fav bands/artists. If you like either you should check out Eddie Vedder singing "The Waiting" with Petty and the Heartbreakers on youtube

They did "The Waiting" together at the Denver show I was at. Of course, I bought the bootleg to the show so I have my own copy to remember it by.[/QUOTE]

I wanted to catch them on that tour so bad. Almost went to one of the Minneapolis shows, but between funds and work, it was a bust

I drove out to Denver with my then fiance, best buddy from high school, and fiance's friend from Chicago to Denver. Definitely worth it and I'd do it again.

I saw a couple people mentioned Paramore.... Thank You!! I love the song Misery Business and have been meaning to find out who sings it. That chick can really belt!

How about Otep? If she doesn't scare you to death you'll love it!
Drain STH - really wish they would have stayed together.
