Looking for new music

If anyone wants to make themselves look ridiculous with infectious, inevitable, shake your booty music...

Check out LCD Soundsystem. The band is one guy, but he writes some ubercool dance stuff.

I'm digging Rilo Kiley, not because of their music, but because frontwoman, Jenny Lewis was Ben Seaver's first love on Growing Pains. Honestly, I'm surprised she's not more of a celebrity.

Also, for all you Nintendorks out there, like me, she starred opposite Fred Savage in "The Wizard."

Blake Sennett, the "other" lead singer, was also a child star.

He fronts a good side project called The Elected. Jenny Lewis also collaborated with the Postal Service, and she put out a solo album last year with the Watson Twins backing a countrified album. Lewis is taken, though. Her new beau is a good musician, too...Johnathan Rice.

1100011CS, I think we have similar taste in music...here's a few of my favorites in the last few years--

-Stone Sour (both albums...I think they're one of the best bands of this decade)
-Slipknot- Vol. 3 The Subliminal Verses (I think most people dismiss them as just being a bunch of noise but this album is really diverse and one of my favorites)
-Bullet For My Valentine- The Poison (I think this album is better then their newest one...these guys are heavily influenced by Metallica, Testament, and Iron Maiden)
-Damageplan
-Sum 41- First 3 albums

I didn't bring my iPod to work today but that's what I can come up with off the top of my head...

Get Innocuous! North American Scum...
I also like "Someone Great"

I love that song!! Anyone a Justice fan?

I bought Cross. Really enjoyed it

Lately I've been listening to Radiohead, Against Me!, and Sugar

Puddle of Mudd and Nickelback are exactly what is wrong with music today. Absolutely the most horrible crap I have ever heard. Play one song, you've heard them all.

Word. av8r has great musical taste. Like he said earlier, check out Drive-By Truckers. Probably the best band in rock music today. Sounds like (and this isn't doing them justice at all) Skynyrd/Petty/The Stones/Replacements/Springsteen/Cash. Also, the new Raconteurs cd rocks my balls off :notworthy:

Sublime, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, CCR, Johnny Cash, Violent Femmes. These are all a bit older, but if you've never listened to much of them I suggest you familiarizer yourself. Enough good stuff here to get you through the summer.

not possible. A man who eats gravel for breakfast does NOT listen to Abba...

No man! I'm serious! I think it was an interview with Murphy, Walters or Fales (can't recall)... trust me, I was as shocked as the next guy when this super serious, stoic, no-nonsense, kick-your-*** new coach being interviewed said "ABBA" when asked about music....

golden delicious

I like doughty's new one Golden Delicious, but it isn't not nearly as good his last one Haughty Melodic. Just one opinion.

Heck yeah! I just started listening to them. They are awesome. That tune they do for the "Black Snake Moan" soundtrack is killer.

--"When the lights go out." Fantastic.

Have you ever listened to R.L. Burnside? He's dead now, but he's in the same vein.

my buddy just got me into black keys as well. Good stuff!
