I've taken my first steps in quitting chewing tobacco. I finished what I hope to be my last tin yesterday. I bought some coffee ground pouches and they satisfy my need to have something tucked in my lip. They taste awful though.

Good luck! Kicking nicotine ain't easy. I'm rooting for you!

Went to the Cubs-Cards game today at Wrigley. Only my 2nd Cubs game ever, 1st one was about 17 years ago I think. Sat in the bleachers in center, about 8 rows up. Thought I might have a chance to throw back Holliday's HR, as it was coming right at me, but alas it did not carry far enough.

All in all, had a pretty good time at the ol' ballpark today.
Go Cards!!!

I went through the whole weekend and (outside of gas for the car) only spent $8 in entertainment. I feel like that a major accomplishment for some reason.

I go into the men's room at work and their is a pair of men's underwear hanging over the edge of an empty stall. I thought it was a grey T Shirt at first but they looked too small so I assume it is a pair of boxer briefs. Not going to get up real close to make sure.

Not sure I want to know why.

Or maybe ISU fans should just have a little thicker skin and not be offended every time KU is mentioned?

Thanks to you guys I went and read the thread. I don't understand how what tch said could be negative at all. He was relating a story that fit the topic.... Makes me wonder if CF is like that now what will FB bring

In happier news, I think I see the second tooth almost cutting through! YAY!!

I'm really glad we don't remember all the things that happen while so small. Watching her fall isn't fun either, except when it's funny.

Watching your kid fall (as long as they don't get hurt) gets funnier as they age. Last weekend, my daughter ran into the two-inch thick security scanner while walking out of the library. She had this great "what the hell" expression, staggered back two step, fell on her butt, and then her feet went over her head and her books went sliding all over the floor.

She sat up and had a red mark from just above her nose extending the full length of her forehead, but it was just from the impact. She wasn't really hurt. I'm really sure about everyone in the library was disturbed by my laughter. My daughter gave me this embarrassed look, smirked and walked over and punched me on the arm.

Sounds like she knows your sense of humor.

Last winter, I was outside shoveling snow, slipped on a patch of ice and just bit it with authority .... and hilarity. My wife asked if I was ok. My daughter grabbed a handful of snow and shoved it down my shirt.

I LIKE your daughter! ;)

She's a cool kid.

I've been on a mission to have her grow up not being afraid to laugh at herself. Low self esteem sucked when I was a kid. It took me a long time to realize that you can't hear people laughing at you when you're laughing louder than they are.

I was never one of those moms to coddle and rush to pick them up when they fell. If you're always picking them up, they never learn to do it for themselves. Seems to have worked out okay...they've become very adept at fending for themselves, and making their own way.
