This is on Russia, probably not directly, but they at least provided the smoking gun.

Russia isn't going to give ****, this would be the third airliner they have shoot down (the other two being South Korean). They will stick with the story that the Kev govt did it, not their bobos in East Ukraine. The separatist probably wouldn't know who to operate the BUK system without Russian help or Ukrainian military defectors.

Reportedly 23 US citizens onboard. Unconfirmed.

I don't think anything will come of this, but to me this would give every country who had a citizen on board to go into Ukraine and protect their citizens. Basically the same excuse Russia used to invade.

Now they are taking all of the wreckage and evidence to Mother Russia to be examined and not letting anybody else have access to the crash site.

Is it still a crash site if it was shot down?

Uh, I guess we could call it the explosion site, but that would be more in the air. I'm guessing the pieces of the plane crashed to the ground so I was still thinking it would be called a crash site, but of course it's now a criminal act so I guess you could call it a crime scene. I don't know what do you call it? :skeptical:

It will turn out to have crashed and be unable to provide any data to investigators.

Russia Today had a guy come on saying the Russian President's Plane was in the area around the same time and has similar markings/colors to a Malaysia Airline plane.

That is weak.

At 30,000 feet they don't see the color of the plane.

Just repeating what I heard. I thought it was a weak argument too. They could've been aiming for it but got the wrong one. I could believe that.

Rule 1 of missile launching: If you can't hit your intended target, maybe you shouldn't be launching missiles.

Clearly the proper conclusion it was shot down from the air. :wideeyed:

That doesn't paint Russia in a good light then. That area is basically russian airspace, right?

Apparently the Ukrainians have only about 16 operational fighter aircraft...

I was joking. There's no real reason to think the initial reports of a Buk missile are incorrect. But it's fun to take one minor reported detail and make up wild conclusions from it
