Oklahoma St. vs. Iowa State

Now I need to find a replay of the game to see everything I missed.

We were sitting a few down from you. Gotta love the walk of high fives you got going down Court Cyd.

Two related items:
Heardfrom someone in between us that the other ref (female one) said to them that if they did not quit talking smack she would throw their *** out. This was supposedly said by her to them early in the game (first half)

After you were booted CY came up took off my sons glasses and stepped out to the edge of the court offering them to the refs since they needed them.

A very bizarre but in the end memorable game of reffing ineptitude.
Ha yeah high fives. One of the people from the other side of the court cyd said the female ref told him one more word and he was gone. This was after I was gone.

Yep, and in typical Mulkey fashion, she left Griner in just to pad stats. Her 50th point made it 90-65 with about 2:00 left. Classy.

Kim is about as white-trash as you get. She dresses the part, too. Classic street-walker outfit again. Oh, but she's coach of the year. What a joke.

I know this. I am getting too old to watch intense games like that......especially with bad officiating!

Great win though.........just wish the physical play would get cleaned up. It's slowly ruining the women's game and almost making it un-watchable.

Think I will watch the replay tomorrow.......when I already know the outcome.

He did the game in Lincoln last nite Penn State v Nebraska, must have been tired reason he missed so many calls.

Best was the official scorer needing to get his attention twice during timeouts. One time a guy from the scorer's table whistled at him, another a cheerleader and to go get his attention.

This was by far the most insane game I have ever personally seen at Hilton and I've only missed two since November 1998. THREE T's and a fan tossed from the game? Seriously? My hands were actually shaking by the final buzzer, I was so wound up. This is what they needed against TCU - an "F this, we're NOT losing this game because of the refs" attitude. That's what our awesome home crowds do for these players. And that's what great teams do - win in spite of the zebras pre-determining the winner.

I rag on bad refs a lot, but these three were the worst refs ever to (dis)grace the floor of Hilton. I half expected someone to toss a chair onto the court. For the fan to get tossed for what he actually said, I guess you'd have to have a pretty thin skin to think that was ejection-worthy. It would be nice to think that all three of them felt some fear for their safety by the end of that game, but I'm betting they believed they made all the right calls and didn't miss a single thing (replays be damned). Absolutely cluelessly stupid.

BUT, we won and that's the bigger picture. The girls should be proud of the way they fought back and found a way to get the W. It would have been a travesty to not win the final home game for Pop, Anna, and Z. Hope they can play with the same energy in Dallas that they showed the final 5 minutes here. At Fan Fest, I was promised a good post-season by the seniors, so I hope they can deliver. Unfortunately, I can't make Dallas, but I'm hoping the sub-regional site ends up being an easy flight or drive. Geez, I'm still wound up. Gotta get some sleep...

Forgot to mention that I thought it was very cool that Coach Easley and his wife, Marla, sat on Iowa State's bench while the seniors gave their speeches. It was also very good of OSU to allow them to take the time to do that rather than high-tail it out of Hilton and head home. Good move by all concerned and good to see the Easleys in Hilton again.

And that was some serious Hilton Magic doing it's thing tonight. Haven't heard the place that loud for a women's game since Desiree Francis hit back-to-back-to-back 3s against Illinois in the 2000 NCAA 2nd round game that brought ISU to within a point in front of an actual 13,400 fans. THAT was one incredible noise from the crowd when Illini coach Theresa Grentz called a timeout to try and curb the run (it didn't work).

Maybe the fix was in to try to get Baylor a seven game lead on the pack. Would be interested to find out how the officiating was in Lubbock. They apparently did their job.

I am getting to like the big 12 less and less. We are the lone northern team, with power concentrated in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. The only teams really out of the loop are WVU and ISU. I can see this conference turning more and more southern with Kansas as the exception. This year had so many strange ballgames that were hard to fathom in any rational sense. I don't believe I have ever lived through a year that ISU was treated so badly by the referees. I have always been a complainer, but this year seemed totally out of wack, both men and women. The women seemed to get better treatment away from home than at home. And that isn't any concession to the referees. I don't like conspiracy theories, but I am really wondering if it isn't time to get out of the conference and give them their south.

I think Pop was in her element last night. The officials were letting that game turn into a street fight down the stretch and that tie up on Pop really seemed to light her fuse. She came out elbows swinging and you could just tell they ****** off the wrong person. She played with some serious energy and was aggressive down the stretch.

With the kind of fan/official interaction we had, I wouldn't be shocked to see the B12 try to pressure schools to do away with court side seats here and elsewhere.

And ignore the real problem of POOR QUALITY Refs with attitude problems like Mike Price? Give me a break, Tom O'Neill is a VERY GOOD EXAMPLE OF A REF WAY PAST HIS PRIME,. TRY CHECKING ALL THE COMMENTS BY THE NATIONAL SPORTS PRESS ABOUT THE KANSAS GAME. INDICITIVE OF WHAT I SAY.

I HAVE A FEELING WE HAVE SEEN THE LAST WE WILL EVER SEE OF TOM O'NEILL, I sincerely hope he is banned from the Big 12 and retires.
