I feel like Chip Brown and many other "reliable source" have tweeted this about 20 times before. Then right before we're supposed to get some sort of announcement some other type of news breaks and we're back to the drawing board.

Next up! Texas considering joining CUSA with Baylor to keep LHN intact!
Maybe they should go independent. Or maybe the Big 3: UT, ND, and BYU, maybe add later the service academies.

The Big 12 is being way too quiet throughout all of this. Eerily quiet.

Meaning what, in your opinion? Meaning that we have something up our sleeve to keep the conference together? Meaning Dan Beebe has locked his office, told his secretary to not take any calls and is having a long heart to heart with his mother about how this isn't his fault?

My thoughts exactly.

Until the B12 or The "Leftover" north schools start doing things like this:

Baylor University || Baylor Nation || Don't Mess With Texas Football

No posturing by our interim president or AD, no calls for taking away tax-exempt status from the NCAA/BCS/Athletic departments by our state's US Senators. I think we will be just fine in the end of this.

I can totally see Senator Grassley going after the NCAA. The Oversight branch of the Finance Committee would have a field day with this.

I don't know really.

All I know is that it is strange to hear NOTHING from the Big 12, as the last 5 days have been an absolute PR nightmare.

One tiny statement. No comments. No quotes. Nothing.

People forget that hundreds of folks down at the Dallas office are about to lose their jobs. That's not mentioning the athletic departments that will have to significantly trim their staffs should they undergo a major drop in revenue.

Things are too quiet right now. We all know that Dan Beebe isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he isn't stupid enough to sit on his hands and watch as all of this is going down.

I have no information on what is actually happening. But you'd like to hope that the league won't go down without a fight.

The last time the Big 12 was saved, we didn't see it coming either.

Like I wrote in yesterday's musings, nothing is ever over in realignment. Expecting the unexpected is a decent route to go here.

Just thinking out loud here. No clue what is going on behind the scenes.

Beebe should be asking me whether or not I want ketchup or salt with my fries.

Meaning what? Good or bad?
