Jordan Railey

This is false. As far as I understand it, railey was completely hammered and was getting mad at ejim cause he wouldnt text him back fast enough (not 100% about that, but something along those lines apparently). then ejim showed up, railey threw a punch at him and boom, the cops arrived. I would think the cops are going easy on him with just disorderly conduct, cause he was obviously smashed.

I hope that's not true. I really hope we aren't running a HS Girls basketball program.

Probably comes down to if Fred really wants Jordan here or not. If he does this will be swept under the rug and quickly forgotten. If not, Jordan will be sent packing.

This hasn't been answered and IDK. What are the cops like in Ames? Are they decent guys, who maintain law and order while cutting people a bit of slack (Andy Griffith type)? Or are they "chip on the shoulder" type jerks who want to bust anyone for anything, especially jocks, to show them "who the boss is"???

I imagine that there's alot of truth to this. If he swung at Ejim he can unload him (if he wants) no matter what the legal issues are.

This is a non-expert guess on my part, since I never really run into them.

I'm guessing, given the time of the incident and the location, that they were pretty lenient on an underage guy who was likely clearly intoxicated and belligerent. My guess is that they went pretty easy on him with the disorderly conduct charge.

It's VEISHA week, they are "chip on the shoulder" ******.

I was told by a friend it was for fighting. I don't know about the Ejim thing but I did also hear something along those lines.

Yet you claimed you didn't prop him up. I see. You get to have cake and eat it too. Awesome.
No, I said I hardly propped a replacement, which is true given I already had pegged Gibson to join the team prior to JR's bad night. I am not sure who I would take with yet another additional scholarship, I'll get back to you.

I agree, why not turn a thread about Railey into a thread about a guy we don't even know if we are going after when there are other places to talk about it?

Varies by the officer. Some are column A, some are column B.

Time to grow up. Adulthood does not start at 25-30 years old. The post seems to imply that poor judgement under the influence is no big deal, and should be accepted. My guess is the drinking age was raised to 21 in Iowa many years ago to help deter this line of decision making. Railey is underage(as was Homan), and will be lucky if he does not have alcohol related charges added to his latest debacle. This behavior is not acceptable to me, for someone who represents the University for which I am an alumnus and support with both my time and resources.

That's rich. A man who equates playing a slow pitch softball game after drinking to "moral degradation" telling others to grow up? Your belief that anyone who ever drinks to have a good time is "morally degraded" is overly simplistic and childish, and is representative of a black and white view of the world and morality that most intelligent people grow out of once they gain some life experience.

Having a couple beers before a softball game is a personal choice, and it hurts no one. Not everyone walks around with a stick up their butt and believes that anyone who ever has a good time has "moral degradation."

It's depended on the year in my experience. They've moved more and more away from being out to get someone since the '04 riots. They have a heavy presence for sure, but in my experience most of them are just trying to prevent bad things from happening before they become big problems. Obviously they'll take someone to jail, but let's be honest if they were out to get people they could arrest or ticket 50% of the city for a PAULA or public intox. When you think about how many people violate some sort of law that could be cited during VEISHEA and then look at the relatively few they actually have the last couple years I think it kinda shows that they are very lenient.

If the story is true I'm betting the only reason Railey had an issue was because when police addressed him he didn't follow their instructions and tried to walk away.

Because it is better than talking about what was at that point a rumor? Because I rather focus on the positives? Why not? I believe in thread fluidity.

You drew comparisons of Homan to Railey in attempt to marginalize the latest incident. You clearly don`t like getting called out for your immature response, but I really don`t care.
