D Sims at the Combie

Unrelated.. but never would have guessed the top 2 40 yard dash times would be guys from Fort Valley State and Abilene Christian

Maybe i'm making this up.. but i remember something on Sunday Night Football or Monday night Football the guys were talking about Abilene Christian... they always produce NFL talent seems like they have a guys playing in the league somewhere.

Still don't understand why Sash entered...
Sash wasn't going to improve his draft stock by playing another year of college football, i.e., he's reached his ceiling. Stood the chance of getting injured his final year that might have cost him his one shot at playing in the NFL. I'm sure the frustrating senior year of Clayborn was in his mind too.

Or so he doesn't have to go through 'workout' hell and into a hospital (man that story died)

Or so he doesn't have to get tested (actually tested) on a continually basis for 'stuff'.

Or because AA graduated.

Wow, I've seen a lot of guys wear a tinfoil hat, but you actually pull it off:jimlad:

Honestly, he really has peaked physically. He's not going to improve physically with another year in school. He's also had 2 shoulder surgeries already (which could explain his tackling woes this season, as well as his low bench reps). And this year's safety class is pretty weak, to boot.

He looked very impressive in the drills, I was surprised how he looked a lot stronger than most of the other DBs. Just wish we could see CF at the combine, I think he would be a stud like Tony Moeaki?

Why does anyone on this board care about Hawks in the the present or past combine?

Fort Valley State, Abilene Christian, and other small schools like these get a lot of kids who don't get into D1 schools for whatever reason and also don't go JuCo. Every year you see some vitrually unkown school have a first or second round draft pick.

Interesting... Looks like DSims is going to be a Cornerback

Doubt it. All secondary players are listed as DB--. NFL.com is likely too lazy to look up that Sims is a S and not a CB, and thus put him in the top performing lists at corner and not saftey.

For an NFL safety he is decently fast, for an NFL corner, he would probably be a step slow. Not to mention the completely different coverage mechanics involved.

Charlie Sheen thinks we should add the word winning to the end of this thread title.

"D Sims at the Combie Winning!"
