Couple of DVDs: Band of Brothers, and the 1987 ISU-Iowa DVD. Revkah is seeing the ISU basketball I grew up with right now :smile:
Also a really nice Cyclone jacket and a book that almost nobody has ever heard of, but it's huge for me!

I would really like DeVondrick Nealy! I have two more christmases to go. Hopefully he committs sometime between now and Dec. 31st.
The very coolest thing that I got was something that my family stumbled across somewhere, and my sister sent to me.
I opened a box of various articles, and lost amongst the jumble was a small, leather clad case, about 2"x1 3/4". My interest was immediately piqued, because it almost looked like a jewelry case, though it was more (makeup) compact sized. There were studs on the side, and a bar, obviously to press to open.
Only, when I turned the case over, imprinted in gold was the legend, Our Family, in very elaborate ******. Now entirely fascinated, I fiddled with the thing until I managed to get the clasp open--to find two black and white pictures of my parents inside, locket style.
Obviously from the early Sixties, when both were in their early- to mid-twenties, I reached out and flipped Mom's (who had passed away in '92) picture. To encounter a baby picture of me. When I picked it up, I realized there were more. An entire wallet-style folding sleeve of pictures tumbled out, photos of me, from a mere babe to a toddler. It was amazing!
I called my sister to thank her. Apparently Dad had given it to her, not realizing what it was. I made a point of not pointing out that those photos depicted the entirety of "Our Family" in the period before she (three years younger) arrived on the scene. :wink:
Besides, what was most amazing was seeing my parents so young. And om so beautiful. A wonderful present, it most certainly was. :biggrin:

Best Christmas Present Ever: My son was born 3 weeks ago, 8 weeks early, and is doing fantastic. Can't wait to get him home from the hospital.
Also got a Kindle and some e-books from my husband, which turned out to be better than I had expected. I'm so glad he didn't listen to me when I told him I didn't want one!

Lasik eye surgery and a washer n' dryer.
I know, the fact that I am ecstatic about these gifts clearly labels me as old, but I am quite tired of not having a working dryer and the ensuing crunchy towels from air-drying.
