NFL: Moss waived by Vikings

Chilly is the biggest problem. When you let someone dictates whether he wants to go to training camp and then when he wants to come back, you lose your credibility.

Have not paid attention, can someone tell me why in the hell they would cut him?

Moss after the game...

"I'm going to go ahead and say this, look I got fined $25,000 for not talking to ya'll," he said. "Me personally I really don't care. But at the same time I do answer questions throughout the week and for the league to fine me $25,000 ... I'm not going to answer any more questions for the rest of the year. If it's going to be an interview, I'm going to conduct it. I'll answer my own questions. Ask myself the questions and then give y'all the answers. ... Enough said with that. Now we'll get to the game."
Moss paused and exhaled deeply before praising everything about the Patriots.
"I miss the team," he said. "It was hard for me to come here and play [Sunday]. It's been an up-and-down roller coaster emotionally all week and then to be able to come in here and see those guys, running plays that I know what they're doing and the success they had on the field. I just want to be able to tell the guys that I miss the hell out of them. Every last helmet in that locker room."
Moss provided the Vikings coaching staff insights on the Patriots last week, but he indicated no one took it to heart until Sunday.
"I tried to talk to the players and coaches about how this game was going to be played," he said. "Couple tendencies here, couple of tendencies there. The bad part about it [is] you have six days to prepare for a team and on the seventh day, that's Sunday, meaning today, they come over to me and say, 'Dang, Moss, you were right about a couple of plays and a couple of schemes that they were going to run.' It hurts as a player that you put a lot of hard work in all week and toward the end of the week, Sunday when you get on the field, that's when they acknowledge the hard work you put in throughout the week."
Moss then referred to Belichick as "the best coach in football history." Moss also referenced Childress' decision to go for a touchdown on fourth-and-goal from the 1 rather than kick a field goal in the final minute of the first half with the score tied 7-7.
"Definitely down that we lost this game because I didn't really expect for us to lose this game knowing that we had a few things to clean up," he said. "I wish we could've had that three at the end of the first half. Maybe could have been different. Maybe not."
At that point, Moss finished with his salute and walked back into the locker room.

Next thing we know, Chilly will announce Bud's Grant's office has been cut.

He overheard Bud telling a fishing story and Chilly thought he was critizing his indecisions when Bud got to the 'fish or cut bait' punch line.

Vikings have problems up and down their entire organization.

1) Favre at QB. I understand he had a fantastic year last year, but he's just too old and broken. Plus, you can tell he's not having fun like he did last year. Just seems to me the guy is waiting of the season to be over. On top of all that, he showed up right before the season starts, and we're supposed to expect him to be on the same page as everybody else?

2) Lack of WRs. Well, we have them, but they're just not consistent. First of all, you have Rice out due to an injury he didn't bother to really treat during the off-season. Had he gotten the surgery he needed, he'd probably be playing. Next, Harvin was out early in the season, and while he's a playmaker, he's a bit inconsistent at times. Berrian seems to drop passes left, right and center. Shianco's become a non-factor. And when we brought in Moss, we weren't able to really use him.

3) Loss of Chester Taylor. Now, AP's been doing better at running back, but Chester Taylor was a great RB to have. Great in the run game, and great in the pass game. Gerhart's good, but not great and he's still young and inexperienced. Peterson's not that great in pass protection.

4) Inability to win the battles at the LOS consistently. I just don't think we're as dominant on the lines as we once were. Especially on the DL, which hasn't done a whole lot.

5) Shaky secondary. Just seems that we're all over the place with this group of players.

6) Inept front office and coaching staff? Just doesn't seem like we're looking to build a long-term program.

I would argue that Wilf is one of the greatest (if not the greatest) owner in Minnesota sports history. And the front office has been doing a heck of a job building the team, especially through the draft.

Like most others, I think Childress (and his stubbornness) is a huge issue. That and not having a long term QB plan for for several years.

Wilf might be the best.. But there really haven't been that many great ones. Red McCombs was before Wilf and he was absolutely turrible.. I don't necessarily think Wilf is causing the team to struggle but he seems like he's just waiting for that lease to expire on the dome to pull the franchise out of dodge. Maybe he won't but thats my thinking.

The front office has done a good job in the draft, I will give you that. But to not draft a QB in multiple drafts, pass up Donovan McNabb, beg Favre to come back and give him tons of extra money, and then grab Moss for a 3rd rounder only to let him go after 3 games? The front office has to be questioned..

I will donate all of my CF credits to Cincinnatti if they sign Moss. ALL of them.

Who wouldn't watch their games, if only to see which of their 3 prima donnas goes Old Testament first? We could actually see the first ever time where a WR strips the ball out of another WRs hands!

You'd watch. You know you would.

I'm not completely ready to count the Vikings out this year. I see the Vikings going anywhere from 8-1 to 4-5 to finish out the season. Realistically, 9-7 or maybe 8-8 gets them into the playoffs this year. Its a long shot, but still possible.

If the Vikings do go down the crapper, they are going to have to rebuild big time. Defense is getting older and slower. Everyone is getting more expensive.

If they do have to go into rebuild mode, should they try to trade Peterson to Dallas for a Herschel Walker type haul?

Dolphins - - 3 picks in a loss. 1 off Harvins chest that was a TD on a perfect slant pass. 1 where Favre threw it to Berrian and Berrian kept running for a pick. Bad game though

He fumbled in the endzone...This loss in on Favre. Take the glasses off...

This has been a great NFL season so far! Who would have thought...

-Ochocinco and TO on the same team and actually getting along while being productive and not creating headlines for things other than their play
-Randy Moss traded to the Vikes then cut 2 week later
- the league cracks down on "hard hits"
-Vikes 2-5 on the season and looking like a train wreck
-Cowboys going 1-6, they ARE a train wreck, and somehow Jerry Jones backs Wade Phillips through the entire season now.
-The Chiefs and Raiders are 1-2 in the AFC West and playing a meaningful game in Week 9 that could have implications on which team eventually winds up winning the division.

Gotta love the NFL!!!

He fumbled in the endzone...This loss in on Favre. Take the glasses off...

Really? Take of your glasses.

Childress elects not to kick a FG to start the game. 4th and 2 with what would have been a 40 yarder and he goes for it. Vikings don't score

Favre throws a TD to Percy but Percy slips and ball hits off his chest and bounces into arms of Dolphins player. Vikings don't score

Favre gets sacked and fumbles in endzone for a TD for Dolphins. Obviously his fault

Favre throws pass to B Berrian who is open for TD and Berrian doesn't come back for ball. Vikings Don't score

Vikings 4th and Goal at the 1 (have to go for it since Chilly didn't kick FG to start game). No gain for Peterson. Vikings don't score

How anybody can watch that game and blame Favre is beyond me. He played fine that game. Just one of those games when everything goes bad. Like the game yesterday

Regardless of the outcome, Jay Glazer is an idiot. I don't believe Moss is staying for a second.

Really? Guy sure has the in with a lot of players and teams and reports good stuff. Not sure what your beef is with him.
