NFL: Moss waived by Vikings

I'm pretty sure you are the only person in the world who doesn't think Favre has had his head up his *** all season long. Any other QB with his numbers would have been benched a long time ago. The only reason he is even starting over Jackson is because of his name and what he's done in the past.

You want to go game by game?

Last game against NE - - Played well

Packers - - Stunk (blame him or bad challenges)

Cowboys - - Played well

Jets - - Highest QB rating against Jets all year. Higher than Brady, Flacco, Orton, or Rodgers

Lions - - Played ok. Threw 2 picks.

Dolphins - - 3 picks in a loss. 1 off Harvins chest that was a TD on a perfect slant pass. 1 where Favre threw it to Berrian and Berrian kept running for a pick. Bad game though

Saints - - Played well. No Rice or Harvin

Had one horrible game, 2 average games, and played well the other 4. QB's have bad games. He is the starting QB because he is by far the best QB on the team and you don't pull your leader after a bad game. You really think Brees should have gotten pulled after the Browns game?

I'm so flippin' ****** at this move. The only way I'm OK with this is if Childress is waived next. Harvin has been lighting it up since Moss arrived!

Its not all on him. One of the best RBs in the NFL is struggling running the ball. Neither of the Vikings' lines have performed well, and it shows in the W/L column.

Ok.... I don't really follow the Vikings at all here.... What in the hell happened to them from the end of last year to this season that took them from being a contender to playing like absolute garbage? I have noticed a few things.... Loadholt is getting quite a few penalties that have killed drives (did they lose some veteran OL), and what in the hell happened to their D? They were killing QB's last year and I heard the other day that their leading sack guy has 1.5 sacks on the season? That is terrible.

He's struggled doing what now? His stats call you a liar.

NFL Stats: by Player Category
He's guaranteed about 3-4/run just because of how strong he is. However, what happened to him breaking bigger runs? He hasn't been NEARLY as productive getting longer runs this year as he has been since he broke into the NFL. That tells me linemen are having to spend more time blocking defensive lineman instead of getting up to the second level to spring him.

Unless of course they changed his running style and the result of him protecting the ball is not having the same explosiveness.

Favre has sucked this year. You can't deny that. You could argue it's cost the Vikings a couple of games.

Compared to what? Tavaris Jackson? Sure, maybe Favre cost them a couple wins that Jackson would have won, but Detroit and Dallas could have just as easily beat us with Jackson at the helm.

Honestly, there is no evidence that Moss is hurting team Chemistry any more than a just losing has. Childress has done more to hurt locker room chemistry than Moss has. Plus, the Viking are just plain a better team with Moss than without.

Youd think so but the results don't show it. If everyone starts chirping like Randy or because he did, it can't be good. One option- dump him. A better one would be to win but that doesnt seem likely.

First Brad Childress begs Farve to play (hoping Farve would save his job) now Brad Childress is trying to make BF and Moss the scapegoats of the season (hoping that will save his job).

The brad childress experiment should have ended three years ago when he refused to recognize TJ was not a superbowl winning QB. That fact brad has hung on this long is a crime. He is wasting a once in a lifetime defensive unit.

That's a good argument too, I guess. And I 100% agree with your second point.

In 3 games w/o Moss the Vikings averaged 14 points

In 4 games w/ Moss the Vikings averaged 21 points

This hurts

I agree with you here. Having Moss on the field completely changes how defenses play the Vikes and opens up the field for other players.

Last year the Vikings were scoring all the time which let the defense just unload on the opposing QB because they had to pass.

Name them

The defense not recording a sack in the past 3 games for the first time in franchise history?

Favre's 11-7 INT-TD ratio?

I'm not saying Childress should be the coach but at some point the players need to make plays and they just aren't doing it. That isn't on the coach.

I'll put anything Favre or Tarvaris does on Childress since he's the one responsible for both of them.

Both problems but I still say that Childress lack of leadership is the biggest problem. Did the Dline get less talented this season? When the head coach shows poor leadership and nobody on the team respects him, players tend not to play to their potential.

That is why I say that Childress is the biggest problem
