NFL talent on ISU's roster

I'm not going to add anyone I have not seen play atleast 1 game.

Good chance:
L Johnson
S Johnson
G Mahoney - it's still a little early, and needs to get stronger but why not?
K Osemele
C Franklin - will need to beef up to play in NFL. Fits our system now.

Offensive line is not my area of expertese so maybe I missed one, or am wrong on KO?

Slight chance:
A Arnaud - Not sure he can make the reads in the NFL
F Garrin - Is he physical enough?
D Darks - If he can develop his body.

I don't think anyone is a "lock" to be drafted.

I definitely don't know why so many people think Arnaud is a lock. He has all the tools to be a very good Big XII QB, but if Graham Harrell and Chase Daniel didn't get drafted, there's a very good chance Arnaud won't be either.

While I get what you're saying, as Harrell and Daniel were really great passers, AA certainly has a more NFL type of body, and I think he definitely has just as strong (if not stronger) arm than those two. He needs to be more accurate and make better reads, but I think he's more similar to Josh Freeman than he is Harrell or Daniel.

I'd say LJ is. KO would have to really fall off or have something happen to not be drafted, but the rest of the team doesn't have a great chance yet. Ask me again after big 12 play.

Believe it or not, Scheels Stores are older then Kinnick Stadium.....Kinnick opened in 1929, the first Scheels Store was opened in 1902 at a cost of 300 dollars!!!! It was started by an immigrant that had saved his entire income from his 3 acre field of potatoes and opened that store in Sabin, Minnesota!!!!

But, no bs'in us ISU fans would love to have a stadium as big, nice and historic as Kinnick its a great venue to watch a game.....

Big and historic? Sure. Nice? Not unless you enjoy a firm knee in your back for a majority of the game.

Our uniforms look nothing like USC's! We have 2 stripes on the shoulder pad and they have 1!

Seriously though, our colors are the same, so the chances that our uniforms look a like are pretty decent

Now that's funny. Kind of like when Vanilla Ice said the intro to "Ice Ice Baby" wasn't a total ripoff of "Under Pressure."

Good stuff.

First of all, we don't have any draft talent on our team.

But, we do have some guys who could potentially end up on NFL teams or maybe even drafted.

Remember, there have been many ISU greats that were never drafted: Todd Blythe, Bret Meyer, Brent Curvey, even Troy Davis didn't go until the 4th round

This. Arnaud isn't an NFL player right now. He has the build and the arm, and that killer instinct to finish a play. He needs to lock up his accuracy and read the field like a mastermind. If he improves those two aspects of his game over the next two years, he'll be drafted.

Arnaud is probably behind where even Freeman was in terms of reading the field, hopefully he really improves on that this year. He definitely has all the physical tools and the size to make it but that doesn't mean anything if you lock yourself onto one side of the field.

I don't know, with the new offensive coordinator he might get the dreaded "system quarterback" label. Personally I would love to have anything close to the success of Texas Tech and be complaining that our quarterbacks are not getting the credit they deserve.

I think there is a lot of potential NFl talent on this team. Keep in mind this is potential. I think we need to give some sort of probability so I gave them a grade on a scale from 1-10 with ten being the most potential.

Arnaud-9-Barring any injuries or decline in performance, could very well be a first round pick.
Sedrick Johnson-7-Has solid build, will have to see what happens as he is just a sophmore
Leonard Johnson-8-Pretty good last year considering he was just a freshman. Could be a 10 by the end of his career
Ter'ran Benton-6-Also just a freshman, however was pretty solid when in the game
Alexander Robinson-7- a little undersized, but could be a back in the NFL with his quickness and ability to slip tackles.
Darius Darks-7-also just a sophmore next year so it's hard to tell, however judging from what we know, has to have a pretty fair shot
Judah Linder-5-I am just impressed by this guy's build. He could be a safety or if he gets a little bigger, possibly LB
David Sims-5-impressive on tape, remains to be seen on the field
Kennard Banks-4-Has a chance, will have to have a solid senior year, but looked good in the spring game
Wallace Franklin-3-Has a ton of speed, one great season if utilized correctly might get him a tryout
Jesse Smith-5-Good tackler, lacks ideal speed, but his motor could get him on a roster
Collin Franklin-7-Has good build, good hands, needs to block a little better, but I would imagine he will get to the NFL
Catlett-6- More of a blocker but also has a good shot

As you can see I was fairly generous, but I am just going off what we have seen. As far as lineman, I am not good at evaluating and often times am wrong so I don't even try.

I think it is outrageous to think that Arnaud would be a 1st rounder. Another name to keep your eye on is Jason Carlson. If he truly has 4.3 speed and he produces i wouldnt be surprised to see him drafted.

Its not unreasonable....as a mater of fact.....this line of thought occurs someplace warm. A place where the Kool-aid flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. I'm talking about a little place called Cyclone-Homerville. :biglaugh:

I think Arnaud and Franklin will be drafted if they continue to improve and not level off or regress. A-Rob probably has NFL potential, especially if he starts catching a lot of balls. He could be a solid 3rd down type guy. Sed Johnson seems to have the stuff on paper, we'll see where he ends up.

It may be depressing to us as fans, but it's a much better situation for our guys who signed free agent contracts. At least then you're going to a team who has a need at the position you play, and think you have a legitimate shot of filling that need. Low round draft picks generally don't stick around long after camp begins.
