JJeff Injury Updates

CW on the CW and Blum podcast claims he knows nothing, and no one knows anything, I dont believe that, someone knows something and of course they are gonna keep Tennessee guessing.

But in the spirit of Bilbo Baggins, here is a riddle that has the answer you seek:
It has no roots, yet towers high,
It has no wings, yet fills the sky.
A bird may pierce it, a mountain reach,
But it holds no tongue and has no speech.
If you seek the truth of a thing not known,
Where the seed of doubt is freshly sown,
Look not to the earth or the heavy prayer—
For the answer, my friend, is...

That Houston game looks like one of those weird Vegas non-conference tourney games that just go sideways. It was the middle game of that Vegas tourney and Houston has just beaten Syracuse in OT the day before.

They were even on the boards and both turned the ball over 9 times, which is crazy for Houston. Gillispe had 4 assists and 0 turnovers in 38 minutes. But the game was won at the FT line, Tenn shot 29 FTs and Houston only shot 11.
At the start of the season, it took some time for Kingston Flemings to settle in and play the way Sampson wanted him to. Granted, he did perform well in that game.

They beat Houston, but lost to Syracuse and Kentucky twice. All opponents ISU defeated

It seems the Vols are inconsistent
The Syracuse and Houston losses happened in November/early December. They also lost to Kansas in November, but I wouldn’t put much stock in those results honestly, that early in the season

I wouldn’t put much stock in transitive properties at all at this point actually.

Heck, how much can you even put much stock in games from early March and February? Texas and Iowa were hot garbage leading up to the tournament, and here they are. Nebraska really fell off. Still alive.

ISU looked pretty rough prior to KC, and seemed to flip a switch.

College basketball is wild.

Nope but that ain't shaving off 11 months of recovery though but I was in my 20s.
A sprained ankle typically takes 1 to 6 weeks for mild to moderate sprains while severe sprains can take 3 to 6 months to fully recover. Why the **** were you out for 12 months with a sprained ankle? A broken + dislocated ankle doesn't even take an entire year to recover from

You're just assuming things that aren't true but you're entirely missing my point. If he is back he's not going to be 100%. Not even close. I think it's optimistic to expect 70%. Can he be effective? No idea. I'm hoping for the best but I don't expect much from him with one week of recovery. It's still going to be discolored from swelling.

Now **** off, I'm trying to pass a kidney stone.

they might have extra focus on taking care of the ball with this one. Unlike Kentucky, Tennessee has a good true point guard. They also have taller guys to throw over our trap. . During the season, no teams really get a whole week to work on us, Tennessee will have a lot more time to work on our trapping defense than other teams we have seen. I hope I a wrong, but I don't think our defense is going to win the day, we will need to score with them.
Bad take. Do you really think a team ranked in the #200s in turnover margin suddenly goes, “hey guys, this game is important and ISU is rated top 5 in defensive efficiency, so let’s not turn the ball over.”

If so, I assume we can likewise say, “hey guys let’s make 100% of our free throws this game.”

what things am I "assuming that aren't true?" We've all heard "sprained ankle" and it very well could be that. it could also be that he just rolled his ankle and the damage wasn't actually that bad. he's getting world class treatment on his ankle that you didnt get when you apparently had your ankle amputated.

What part of **** off don't you understand?

Hockey goon style. Put em in there to beat em up until they foul out.
Tim Floyd special.

In several games when ISU was facing a good team who had a bad free throw shooter, Tim would put in a bench guy after 6 fouls whose sole job was to foul that bad free throw shooter. He was pretty obvious about it for a reason - it put even more pressure on the bad shooter to hit that 1 and 1. There were games where that same guy missed the front end of the 1 and 1 on the 7th, 8th and 9th fouls on consecutive possessions. It was like getting 3 free turnovers.

To be fair, he didn’t say he wasn’t taking the UNC job….

We easily could have been foul fckd in the Kentucky game, saw a lot of times we could have been called of stuff. I don't think we'll be as lucky the next game. But we'll have to adjust.
That goes both ways. They could have fouled out three guys on defending Milan alone. They were hanging on and riding him like a bucking bronco.

So did Purdue and we just about made him cry.

I so wish he would have. I am sick of his smug ass face and constant whining about every call/non-call that doesn't go his way. It is funny how he can turn the ball over 8 times in a game and all the announcers will talk about is his 6 assists and one or two amazing passes. Sure, if you don't take care of the ball and take unnecessary risks you are bound to connect on a few of those risky passes.
