Not to be the contrarian here, but this Iowa State team isn't the 8 seed you'd hope for as a 1.
I’m worried about Syracuse. It is easy to look past them knowing you get UCONN if you win. We can’t look past anyone given how this season went. It sucks being in the 8/9 game, but that is why it is important to put together a better resume. At least we are not in the play in game this year.

Agree, Creme's initial bracketology had only 5 I think? I suppose the parity might have gotten more teams in, but with worse seeds.
I'd agree if the Cyclones were a 10 or 11 seed. I could see a 2 or 3 seed thinking "WTF is this draw", at least on potential. However, I don't think UCONN thinks anything other than "let's go win by 40".

We just saw an NCAA #1 beat an NCAA #2 by 51 points a week and a half ago. The best 4 teams in WBB are generally so far above everyone else.

One thing about playing on the #1's court, you draw a decent announcing crew. Lobo may be a Husky but she's been an unabashed Audi Crooks fan so it will be an interesting call.
Wondering if the 7-8 point spread for ISU over SYR includes them not having their PG or if that spread will widen. How addicted to gambling would you have to be to bet on this game? So many wildcards: ISU underperforming in so many games, ISU with maybe close to 100% Brown again, SYR without their PG, SYC in their own "region", our road record etc. I think we might win this handlily but I'd never touch a point spread on it.
ISU had an 83% chance of beating ASU in the tournament in KC. Just keeping everybody on the honest side here.

it was all part of the plan. Throwing the Big 12 game so ISU would stay as an 8/9 and be able to knock the #1 early and have an easier route to the final four.

It bugs me, too. Not just Jada twice, but featuring the two least used players this season. Why not Hare and Harris? I wonder if some intern generated it with AI.
Same thing in football. I would lateral 75 percent of the game just to keep the other team guessing. What do you have to lose.
