New floor for Big 12 MBB/WBB

I think the floor's cool, I just think it's weird that they were like hey look how many cool things we can do with this amazing floor technology, and then make it gray for every game.
I think they had a vision but that vision is not translating through the TV angle.

They should have called an audible after the women's tournament, but if they change it and make it better, some might not think it's fair if it looked better for the men?? IDK

They did. Look at the videos from the women’s tournament to today.

The design they are trying to go with is just bad. If they totally revamped the design it would be much better.

It was honestly crazy to change a major part of the game and basically giving them no time to figure out how best to work with it. It would be like changing the breakaway rims to a double rim, or like the time the NBA changed the basketballs without any notice or input from the players.

Glad, and slightly shocked, they are changing back to what the players are used to.

Props to them for changing the court.

Now will it be a big 12 branded court or will it just be a generic sprint center court they have on hand with some Big 12 stickers on it lol.

I thought it was a cool idea, and neat to watch, but after watching a few full games on it, I was starting to just hope that everyone made it out of that tournament healthy for the big dance.

They obviously need to play test that thing on a much, much smaller stage until they get the traction right. It's too slippery, but at the same time, too grippy is an injury waiting to happen too.

I’d be surprised if they don’t have the old hardwood floor from last year.

And props to Yormark and the league for trying something new and adjusting when it didn’t work. That’s leadership.

And the glass floor will be back. Manufacturing will adjust

Travis Hines has a very interesting article in the Des Moines Register this morning about what our players thought of the floor, the shoes they were using, and even issues with the lighting from the floor.

It also seems that there have been more instances of players stepping out of bounds. I wonder if that might be related to the lines being lighted rather than paint. For instance, might the line appear larger from a distance to the ref? Or harder for the players to see because there is so much other light illuminating up from the floor?
