Silver lining, the Arizona game doesn’t matter at all. One less thing to think about. Might not be a bad idea for TJ to experiment with lineups a bit more, get some rest for the high minutes guys.

Just a coincidenceFunny watching BYU get absolutely worked by UCF then WVU and we completely crumbled against them.
It is not one game though. Team has high expectations they seem to not be able to handle. Gotta play from minute one, not minute 21. TJ's team has struggled with slow starts mist of the year, it is a trend of this team not a one off. With high expectations come high criticism.
He recruits. He’s rah-rah.Now TJ is a "figurehead" coach? Wow.
And they just did things that this team doesn't. Attack the hoop, had an athletic rim protector and another big who could score in the paint and step out and hit a 3. It just had more pieces to work with. Tj has stretched this team as thin and to the max as he possibly can. Props to him for what he's done, honestly and truly, because the personnel is proving how limited it is down the stretch. Maybe the ceiling has lowered because Tamin has been quietly banged up. Maybe it's because Milan is being defended differently and returning to the mean. Whatever the case, TJ is like a pitcher in game 7 of the world series right now, and it's the bottom of the 9th, and after pitching a gem, the bases are suddenly loaded and his arm is shot. The curveball and slider are no longer options, all he's got left is his fastball and that's unfortunately not his strikeout pitch. It's gonna a lot to get this team to achieve what we all had once hoped. And that's OK. It's just another solid season of Iowa State basketball. Nothing special, but nothing wrong with it either. That team was one of the worst adjust offenses in all of hoops. It was horrible
4 guys averaged over 30 minutes a game..
Was not deep at all, but they did rebound and play defense.
TJ is a lot like Matt Campbell. Not quite as talented as other teams but has kids that fight hard and the teams probably win more games than they should (based on talent). There are things that both coaches do really well, and both refuse to fix the things that aren't working.Cause for concern, sure. To say TJ sucks as a coach is moronic.
Not every team switches everything like ISU.Amazing how every possession TTU could get Anderson or Petty switched onto Milan, Jefferson and Buchanan every possession, and ISU can’t get mismatches.
Half court offense is not good. But it’s also easy to defend a team with so little offensive skill in the guard court.
Bateman had a bad game along with others today but he has been playing a lot better offensively than Toure. He is a threat to score and Toure isn’tToure 0-7 from the field, 2 rebounds, 1 assist compared to 1-6 with 0 rebounds and 0 assists from Batemon isn’t much better.
We won’t win many games against anyone in March with those numbers, no matter who starts.
I think Toure airballed 3 threes tooToure 0-7 from the field, 2 rebounds, 1 assist compared to 1-6 with 0 rebounds and 0 assists from Batemon isn’t much better.
We won’t win many games against anyone in March with those numbers, no matter who starts.
I’m not even trying to criticism him, he’s an incredible clone but between him and Toure having zero ability offensively is a huge problem. You can’t have two guards who’s ant score and then you toss in Heise who also can’t really score and it’s an issue. There will be no criticism of Lipsey's lack of offense. I did it 10 games in and was told you can't criticize anyone who has given 4 years to ISU and has the accolades he does. He's an all-american. He's immune from criticism so blame it on someone else
I said the same thing. It isn't tolerated.I’m not even trying to criticism him, he’s an incredible clone but between him and Toure having zero ability offensively is a huge problem. You can’t have two guards who’s ant score and then you toss in Heise who also can’t really score and it’s an issue.
It does matter, you can go get a win on the road against a top 5 and it all but guarantees your 2 seed.Silver lining, the Arizona game doesn’t matter at all. One less thing to think about. Might not be a bad idea for TJ to experiment with lineups a bit more, get some rest for the high minutes guys.
Need Toure for his defense, but who gets the most minutes between him and Batemon should be dependent on game script. Playing with the lead = Toure. Playing from behind= BatemonI still believe Bateman needs to start over Toure. Toure isn’t a threat to score and Batemon has improved a lot defensively.
Yeah everyone gets the matchup they want. It's just his philosophy. Listen, tj doesn't really worry about the other team, we do what we do and if it doesn't work then so be it. That's just how he is.Not every team switches everything like ISU.
I didn't know it was a big secret that Greene is the x and o guy and recruiting/rah rah is what TJ doesHe recruits. He’s rah-rah.
Where’s the actual in-game coaching? Does anybody have any evidence of in-game coaching beyond “try harder”?
Don't be a cry babyI said the same thing. It isn't tolerated.
You need a guard who can score and right now Toure isn’t that guy.Need Toure for his defense, but who gets the most minutes between him and Batemon should be dependent on game script. Playing with the lead = Toure. Playing from behind= Batemon
