Are you not able to set up 48a/240v service in your rural areas?
Could, but not practical, for numerous rural, + cold reasons, including price.
My aging, beat to poop Ford F250 wouldn't fetch a thin dime in the trade in market, and continues to do its point a-b job.

I've lived nearly half a century on this earth and literally don't know a single person who has ever had a car start on fire. I think i've maybe seen two or three in all my time on the road that didn't involve some crazy accident. As such, I've struck this from any consideration in my vehicle purchases.
Was gonna post same. My extended family on both sides, 14 aunts and uncles, like 50 cousins, and never a single vehicle fire. And plenty of crap old vehicles in the population.

Can we also argue about whether ICE or BEV get hit by trains more? Which ones are more susceptible to being hit by lightning? Meteors? Photon torpedoes?
So pointles.

Edit, didnt see the topic got shut down before posting. Delete if desired.

I'm most excited about the BMW iX3, I wish it was about $10k cheaper.

Having said that, after a free month of FSD, I just can't consider any other manufacturer than Tesla. It's at about 99% there, and such a game changer.
Lucid has partnered with Nvidia to be the first to offer level 4 autonomous driving in a consumer vehicle which is crazy levels of automation. Autonomous driving is the future.

ICE vehicles don't just combust by themselves except for electrical fires, they catch fire when being driven due to oil or gas leaking on exhaust components. EV's can just combust if there is a fault with their battery system in the middle of the night. The biggest problem is Lithium fires can't be put out like a conventional fire and are hot. I've witness about 3 ICE burn on the side of the road all older poorly maintained vehicles and they usually are just a black smokey bonfire, not the Hollywood explosion. I saw one EV fire, and it was intense.

No, not a Hollywood explosion, but this one I witnessed about a year ago - the result of a suburban T-bone accident - went up incredibly fast. This pic was taken right after I was able to calm the driver/passenger down enough to get a straight answer on if everyone was out of the car. This was before any emergency personnel were able to make it to the scene and just a few minutes after the accident. My vehicle was parked on the other side of the wide intersection blocking traffic from entering the accident scene and I definitely was uncomfortable from the intense heat generated - in December.

What was the EV fire like? Can you describe it?

Have you sat in a Lucid yet? They're what my old man would call a 30 footer. The cabin layout in the ones I've been is is especially dumb.
I can't imagine it is any worse than a Tesla. Their cabin layouts/controls are ridiculous. One of the least ergonomically designed cars.
