Cal hits a three and ref calls the and-1, but then waves it off, then the refs confer and put the foul back on. Cal hits the free throw to go up one, Notre dame gets a wild three point attempt off but misses and the Notre dame coach runs after a ref after the buzzer

I’ve never hated Fred. Never even blamed him for trying the NBA. That was his dream job. Especially the Bulls. Hope they kick the Hawks ass whenever they play.

Yea, enough time has passed. I prob said **** Fred as much as **** Matt back in the days.

But Fred has been one sad sack loser since leaving. Even when finally winning, he is stuck at bum **** Lincoln where they are only a women's volleyball school. They will get fans to come out this year cuz Rhule sucks, but you know he is second fiddle to football. And captaining a **** show that has not even one a single NCAA game.

I guess if he gets that right, statue time.

From an ESPN article on the state of college basketball:
" ... current NBA player Trentyn Flowers is pursuing college eligibility."

He is on a 2-way contract with the Bulls and has appeared in 2 NBA games. Crazy.

The collegiate sports world has gone mad. Why not hire lineman that get cut in the NFL or hire USFL lineman after their season ends.
Just bring the whole line in, plenty of practice playing together.

On top of that I wouldn't assume we could/ would pay him more here. They pay good foreign players millions in that league.

They seem to win off of high effort that opponents don’t match. Which works, but there will be lows come stretches of conference season. And we’ll see how much they have left in the tank come March.

I've watched them a couple times and they're legit. It's kind of weird, because I wouldn't say that they are the run and gun offenses of his time at ISU, but they're also not like some really strong defensive team either (at least I don't get that impression). They just seem really well balanced and they have some kids who can hit big shots when they're needed.

I never saw Fred's teams like this although they could score in bunches for sure.

Two-three seasons ago he had a decent team that actually defended until they got to the tourney and got worked over pretty good.

Good for him to get that win but we'll see where things are in two months.

enough time has passed and ISU is in a different place that i can really cheer on fred. i also love that it took isu basketball to bring them out of the dark ages.

He did graduate from ISU.

I'm old enough to remember when Nebraska was great at football and sucked at basketball; and Indiana was great at basketball but sucked at football.

Strange days indeed.

Ah Notre Dame finding out that the West Coast ACC refs are just as ****** as the East coast ACC refs. But that was ridiculous. It’s either a foul on the floor or no foul on the shot. The foul was clearly when he was dribbling still. Once he planted his feet and got into the shooting motion there was absolutely no contact.

I don't blame either coach for being that irate with the officials. Just complete ineptitude all around from people who are completely incompetent at doing their job that they get paid to do.

The NET is broken if Iowa is at 12. They haven’t won a road game and are 0-2 in quad 1 games. And are 1-0 in quad 2 games. They are the only team in the NET top 20 without a quad 1 win.

How you can be 40% into a season and only have 1 win quad 1 or quad 2 win is an insanely stupid schedule.

It's similarly hard to understand how Illinois, Nebraska, and Iowa are essentially the same from NET's perspective.

Nebraska has 7 wins over teams ranked between 9th-76th on kenpom
Illinois has 4 wins over teams ranked between 14th-65th on kenpom
Iowa has 1 win over a team ranked higher than 97th (#57 Mississippi)

NET really likes blowout buy-game wins I guess.
