I'd be curious on the loophole, were talking about a law here not some arbitrary NCAA rule. I don't think Toure playing at Brewster would make a difference, he would have been on a student visa there too.No. And ofc they aren't making as much as Jefferson, Lipsey, Momcilovic, but all I can say to it is that Toure & Pleta are paid to come here/play here. Idk what loophole or channel is used exactly (Toure did play his senior year in America at Brewster Academy fwiw) and idk if or when the rules will change on it, but they are both making 6 figures.
I'm sure JJ is making over $1mil. Milan and Tamin probably around 500-750K. Batemon is making the most out of the freshman.
I get why some people here think it's obvious Toure will jump to NBA at first chance and they may be right. I'm just saying this isn't the old days where some players were living in borderline poverty on campus playing CBB.
They have nice lives and while the paycheck isn't the same as if they were an NBA lottery pick, the jump to pros is always risky. I won't claim to know what is in these kid's hearts or minds, but maybe they like the conservative approach of making guaranteed money (even if less than their American teammates) and getting to live out their college life. Those college years are all short and sweet as many of us know already.

What if ISU pays him in francs? The NIL rules for foreign players are going to limit what can legally be offered to Killyan.
Euros, man. What if ISU pays him in francs?![]()
Oh, I know, that was gonna be my quip, but using "francs" seemed sillier/funny to me.Euros, man.
How do you say, "You're my biatch, now." in French? How much French do you think Stirtz learned last night. Probably half fluent by the end of the night
EVERYONE on this board already knows....I encourage everyone - from a non-work device - to go look up what it means to "goon" to someone.
CW on Iowa Everywhere saying Toure might be the best freshman in Iowa State history. Put me in the camp of people that agree with that right now. I don't think it's hyperbolic. At all.
He won’t make any money at ISU because he’s a foreign player. I imagine that will accelerate his desire for the NBA. Will just be up to him and whatever advisors he has around him to figure out. He’s got so much potential that I could see him going earlier than if this was 1997. His jump shot isn’t NBA ready yet but that hasn’t stopped teams beforeI love Toure like everyone here, but doesn't have a good enough jumpshot for the NBA yet, but the defense/mental is already way ahead of schedule. I just hope someone doesn't try to talk him into doing something before it's unanimous (from the people that matter) that he's NBA ready.
He can make very nice money at ISU, be a legend, enjoy being young, and still leave early after Junior year if needed. He should enjoy his time under Otzelberger, not try to get away from it asap.

How do you say, "You're my *****, now." in French?
Don't sleep on Jeff Grayer - that's the top frosh I've seen at ISUI would say he is the best defender. Not best overall. I would have to step back and think about that for a bit to come up with my list.
Yeah, and let's not forget that Jeff was all Big 12 defensive team all four years at Iowa State.Don't sleep on Jeff Grayer - that's the top frosh I've seen at ISU

Said it before, I'll say it again. Foreign players can't be paid due to student visa rules.
