Words don't do it justice for how good he's been for a freshman with only 10 games under his belt. He has zero fear. Matched up against two of (if not) the best point guards in the country 5 days apart? "Yeah I'll just put 'em in a body bag thanks." So fun to watch him play and easy to root for.

Just hope Toure returns for another year at this point. NBA scouts have to like what they see.

I think he could be our GOAT defensive player if we can keep him more than a year, maybe even just this year.

Probably just depends if someone values shot blocking/rim protecting vs a tenacious perimeter defender.

He’s locked up a returning all America (likely first round pick) and a projected lottery pick in the last two games.

And by locked up I mean Stirtz don’t get a bucket on him tonight an Smith was forced into 6 turnovers

I love Toure like everyone here, but doesn't have a good enough jumpshot for the NBA yet, but the defense/mental is already way ahead of schedule. I just hope someone doesn't try to talk him into doing something before it's unanimous (from the people that matter) that he's NBA ready.

He can make very nice money at ISU, be a legend, enjoy being young, and still leave early after Junior year if needed. He should enjoy his time under Otzelberger, not try to get away from it asap.

While selfishly I would love to keep all good players four years I would not blame him if he works on his shot over the off season and pulls a Halliburton.

Being known as a place where you can play for a great team/coach in front of great fans and develop your game to become a lottery pick in two years is not bad for recruiting.

I certainly hope he sticks around for a bit, but:

His jump shot shouldn’t prevent him from NBA success at the moment, IF his defense and athleticism prove to be elite level (they certainly seem to be)! NBA values players with elite level skills, or Rajon Rondo had a great career as a point guard without being a good shooter. Plus, many young players dramatically improve their 3 point shot once they start working on it full time with shooting coaches in the NBA

The NBA doesn't draft on what your current skill set is, they draft on potential.

I had to be the first to steal that picture. Thanks for that! The kid is definitely having fun his first year in college. My only hope is he wants to play in a bunch of derbys with his home town buddy Dorian next year. If Dorian conducts himself anything like Killyan.... look out!

I'm also gonna call it right now, if Killyan is the best defender and Tamin is second best...Yusef Gray Jr next year won't be a drop off from Tamin. This on the ball pressure has potential to be top notch for several years to come.

Hopefully JP is figuring out how to up the basketball budget after we when the natty!

Toure likes the intensity in Hilton. You could see it making him more confident.
I think being a bit unfamiliar with the NCAA BB landscape helps him here. Compared to someone like Lipsey or Heise, I would guess he doesn't know/care much that Iowa is a big rivalry, or that Mackey Arena is a "tough place to play" etc.
