No Bowl Game — Iowa State Turns Down Bowl Bid

You don’t know what actually happened, so maybe not assume CMC is the reason this situation occurred.

We do know that voting down a bowl bid ensures that those entering the transfer portal and not playing in the bowl means NIL money does not have to be paid back.

I think people fail to understand how pissed the players are at JP for several ways he’s handled this, how many have already decided to leave, and how awful we’d look with our 3rd stringers starting. Whether you like it or not, we will not have 95% of our starters return, and that includes at QB.

JP simply needed to give up some control and CMC would be here another 10 years. Instead he basically pushes him out, cuts him off during the team meeting, doesn’t answer questions from the couple players that didn’t storm out, and before they could even swallow the news of CMC and the entire staff leaving, introduced the new guy while CMC was trying to speak.

JP built modern ISU athletics, JP could just as easily kill all momentum in the next 18 months. The clock is ticking on BF and TJ because they told JP the same exact needs as CMC. I can tell you TJ would rather be thinking retirement plans in Ames than if he’s going to stick around another 2-3 years without changes to how NIL is handled.

I'm guessing yes....

With our future coaching staff guiding it and then the majority bolting while the AD feels out the DC to see if he's interested in being the WSU HC.

We really need our entire staff on campus as soon as possible. So I hope not.

Barry Alvarez served as honorary captain twice for the Badgers for bowl game.

Seems like we could have bought Danny Mac a really nice Canada Goose coat and give it a shot

He was the A.D. and had his hands very much on the program still.

The NFL is still great. DIII, D II, 1AA and NAIA are still great. College basketball seems to be doing fine. D1college football is what is being ruined. It's a joke and is being ran by a bunch of greedy sleezballs in the SEC, Big 10 and at ESPN.
College basketball should be fine because they still have March madness, the conference tournaments, and a lot of games to really build clear resumes for teams. Programs are starting to schedule solid non conference games (like our home and home with Purdue).

It’s also much easier to rebuild in these situations because a few players can at least keep you competitive. Rebuilding a football team is entirely different.

The chaos benefits the incumbents which I’m sure is part of the plan and why none of this will ever really be “fixed”.

Uh oh maybe he has a neurological thing going on, this is very concerning.

Yeah, it could just be because they didn’t want to play Memphis in the Liberty Bowl.

It was going to be Arizona. Jamie wasted a lot of time getting that ironed out.

This. Have slowly abandoned sport after sport in my life. Never thought I would prefer the NFL but at least they know how to maintain competitive balance. Looks like ISU is headed for a relegated status. If so, I’m out. A never would have thought I would have even considered it.
