No Bowl Game — Iowa State Turns Down Bowl Bid

What a ****ing disaster. This program is gonna crater harder than the 90s like the last time we hired a coach from Washington State. EVERYONE IS LEAVING. We’ll have a roster of nobodies and walkons. 2025 will officially be the last time we beat Iowa in football. No hope. End the series. JFC.

Here we go! Love it! So rational!

While I think this is true, I don’t necessarily disagree with Pollard’s judgment that Mouser may not be ready to be a head coach, even if the players want him.
It's a short term fix with possible bad longer lasting long term effects.

JR is short term bad but imo better long term prognosis.

The fact that Matt's contract only had a $2 million buyout in it is on Matt... not JP. Matt wanted it that low, so another school would come in and get him out of here.

Was JP supposed to demand it be way higher... and then Matt walks?
I think it would have been easier for JP to sell “anyone who only wants a 2 million dollar buy out in their contract has one foot out the door anyway”

You realize the portal works both ways, right? Like Iowa State is allowed to get players too.

Its clearly working out to perfection when there is mass exodus within 48 hours of the news and we can’t even field a team for a bowl game.

Let them exit. Rogers will bring in new players.

I'm just happy I had a chance to play when I did and not in this era because I would have hated being on a team with guys who cared more about their NIL $ than actually playing the game.

Dudes still drunk from Friday night.

Outside of ISU maybe long term this will lead to a cut down in bowl games as more teams opt out.
I completely agree with you on this one. Perhaps this will ultimately lead to a cut down of all football games. I would love to see the Iowa State rollerball team in action!

It might have made people feel better if Mouser had been given a chance. However, is it even reasonable to think he might have accepted. It seems more likely to me that Mouser wanted to stay with Campbell no matter what.

I like Rogers a lot and believe the future is bright with him at the helm

But Jamie not expecting pushback having hired a new guy before players knew their current culture builder was leaving was such a dumb ******* decision
Its a guarantee that he expected pushback...let's not get ridiculous.

I’ll be curious how much, if at all, Campbell comments on the aftermath in Ames during his Ped St acceptance presser.

At this point blow it up. Give Coach Rogers 3 years of leeway to get his guys.

We have done this before, there wasn’t much in the Cupboard when CMC got here except a 1000 yard rusher who promptly got beat out by a freshman who went on to be a legend, and NFL receiver who liked what he heard from the new coach and stayed loyal and a qb who turned into an all American linebacker.

I don’t know what the future holds but I’ll still be a fan.

Pollard has a short list in his pocket every day of candidates to replace his coaches. He was prepared for this. He played this perfectly. What are you complaining about?
I am of the opinion that Pollard could have waited 24-48 hours to name a new coach. I don’t think there has ever been a situation where the AD announces a brand new coach from outside the program in the same meeting the current coach announces he is leaving.

Credit to Pollard for being ready but that was a massive amount of information to process by fans / players / staff / etc.

Why do you think it's different?

WSU played 3 teams that were in CFP contention yesterday, lost by total of 7 points to all

How is it these lower level players can hang with the Ole Misses, Virginia's ?

ISU got whooped by the only real contender it played

WSU gave up 59 points in back to back weeks.

I see you didn’t mention that.
