No Bowl Game — Iowa State Turns Down Bowl Bid

Well, there’s probably a few that will do well for us so sounds fine. Do you think Penn State will win a Championship year one with half the Iowa state team?

I think the first 8 that he is taking will help them.

Again, I don't think our biggest problem is who Campbell is taking to Penn State (but to be clear they ARE our best returning players). It is the other ones who will take an offer from Iowa or Wisconsin or Nebraska or whoever.

The talent level is quite a bit different.

But I guess if we are aiming to be the Oklahoma State or UCF or West Virginia level of the Big 12, then we are in good shape.

But if we are aiming to be Arizona or Arizona State or BYU or Kansas or Kansas State, we are not in great shape.
It’s really not. Good grief, if it helps bridge the gap next year how is that a problem for you? It’s ok we won’t be heading to Dallas in year 1 next year. You’ll be ok.

I know this probably sounds incredibly naive, but there appears to be absolutely no loyalty whatsoever to the school, community, football program as a whole, or each other. Man, this new day of college athletics is worse than I even imagined.
Yup, Honor before Victory.

Yep... sadly very few of these kids give two sh*ts about Iowa State University. We like to think they do, but they don't.

But I don't blame them at all for that at all honestly. Who else really cares? Coaches obviously don't.

I like Rogers a lot and believe the future is bright with him at the helm

But Jamie not expecting pushback having hired a new guy before players knew their current culture builder was leaving was such a dumb ******* decision

They should be happy they had a new coach and weren't sitting in limbo wondering for a few weeks.

Not sure I would like us to go to a bowl without Rocco, Hanson, Brahmer, Bacon, etc.

Why do you think it's different?

WSU played 3 teams that were in CFP contention yesterday, lost by total of 7 points to all

How is it these lower level players can hang with the Ole Misses, Virginia's ?

ISU got whooped by the only real contender it played

Like the people mad at Campbell for taking a top tier job and doing it the right way, you have anger issues if you're mad at a bunch of college kids for deciding as a group they're not up for a game in these circumstances. My god, so much ugliness being revealed in the fanbase.

If Campbell was still our coach and we declined with an 8-4 record, sure you could be mad. But this? Get over it.

You'd either have to have the players or staff learn and implement a new system in a matter of weeks. Not really possible if most of the staff is leaving. And that doesn't even include player availability. We really want to play a bowl game with walk ons and 3rd stringers?

Yeah.

No, but you hope you hire a guy that can at least make the players consider playing a ******* bowl game.
So you think Kansas State opting out of their bowl game is also a shot at their AD?
