Decline Bowl Game?

I wanted to take this same opinion, but I just don't know. No way to know until it happens or not obviously, but I figure Campbell could recruit over most of the players here at PSU. 4 & 5 star athletes aren't as difficult to find there.
I couldn't imagine how PSU fans would treat players like Rocco if he follows Campbell & goes on a 4 game slide mid-season next year like we just did.
I really hope Campbell encourages the players to finish out the season & play the bowl. And if not, him then let Heacock coach the bowl game to keep some continuity in the short term. I keep hearing he may retire soon anyhow.

We are 8-4 while K-State struggled to 6-6. That is a big difference righ there. We play in a bowl and and keep fighting harder for longer.
With it appearing likely that Campbell is gone, it's a very real possibility our roster could be decimated in a week and we not have the players to field a bowl team. We'll see. Crazy stuff.
Remember the old restrictive NCCA transfer rules...
Will be an important time for Pollard. Hopefully he can find a good coach, fast and has a short list he's already calling. Hope we can keep some of our great players who want to finish as Cyclones (Neal, Bacon, Becht, Brahmer, Bell, Hansen, Jontez Williams, Burkle...) man, it will be sad if this Campbell news proves true and our program is decimated overnight. I'm guessing PSU would love any of those players named above.

I would imagine Campbell would also love to bring a few "culture" guys in to set the tone (even if on paper not as talented as PSU guys)....but id argue many you listed would compete for starting jobs at PSU anyway
Most recent update I saw, KSU is considering it. I don't think it's definite yet.
I don’t think Penn St fans want a bunch of 3 star players from an 8-4 team. Just saying.

While we're at this, maybe just cancel next season to give the new coach time to put his program in place.
If you don’t think our top ten guys couldn’t play significant minutes at Penn State I’m not sure what you’re watching.
I'd expect 99.9999% of teams playing the Cyclones in The Ames Water Bowl at Jack Trice Stadium to decline the invitation if their coach left a couple weeks before the game. I'd expect 70% of them to decline it if they had no coach/player issues.
He might take Jontez and Brahmer. Rocco probably doesn’t want to spend his senior year as a backup.
