Annual Halloween Candy Rant

Went to Walmart and Target to get Halloween candy (for the kids). Where’s the 100 Grand bars? Everything is Reese’s and Skittles. While I do love me some Reese’s cups, I need variety. There was almost no caramel options at all.

Im thinking a class action lawsuit or anti-trust case would bring Halloween back to reality. Who’s signing up with me?
Maybe it's just my area, but it seems like kids are getting braces younger and younger. My 8yo got hers on her permanent teeth up top, before she turned 8.

Big candy now considers jelly beans a seasonal candy. So now I’m forced to buy 2 lb bags on Amazon

Every halloween, after my kids go to bed, I dump their candy out and pick out all the Butterfingers and Almond Joys. There's no reason my kids need to enjoy those, I can do that all by myself. Part of me is also sad my children will never get to try a Butterfinger, but I guess that's the price you pay.
Those are two of my favorites too.

I ordered our candy today from Amazon, will be here Sunday. Last year we set up a table and a couple of chairs in the garage and was giving out candy for a good 90 minutes. Towards the end, it was take 3 or 4, because I was told not to have any left over. Wife was on a diet.

No problem with extras at my house, any leftover I take to work to "share" with the employees I manage. I just don't tell my girlfriend how many get "shared" into my desk for later! ;)

Yep, my 9yo daughter just got tops put on a couple weeks ago, she's not thrilled about getting them right before Halloween. Only needs them for ~6 months, though.

Got 1 big bag of candy from Costco, hid it from the kids so it makes it to trick or treat night. It was $25, that is insane. Once that bag is gone my light goes off early. /rant

We're usually sitting outside on our driveway around a firepit when we hand out candy. A big hit for the parents walking their kids around is our 'candy' bowl of mini liquor bottles. We've also done jello shots and random drinks/shots.

We've gotten accustomed to having kids get sent up the street and back while the adults hang with us awhile.
I do the same in Waukee, fire pit, adult treats, and then I'll have my tailgate tv out with a football game on. This year I'll need more chairs available for all the adults as they send their kids down and back up the cul-de-sac.
