*** Official #22 IOWA STATE vs Colorado Game(Day) Thread ***

I've given up on that idea. Last year was our best shot since 2000 and we have our best player deciding to quit a week before March Madness starts.
Don’t believe all the hype on pods and just try to enjoy the games. Their expectations are always too high. LB’s were supposed to be awesome and they aren’t.

I was surprised at the crowd noise during the plays when ISU did well. Good for you all for traveling. Maybe we just view ISU football as amusing entertainment with occasional bright spots going forward. That's our ceiling. Hope MBB makes a final 4 which I think is realistic. It is what it is.

Basketball I think we have a realistic chance/hope for such a run. Basketball is somewhat unique in sports in that all you need is one great player, surround them with two or three very-good players and some willing/capable role-players, get the right tourney draw when you're healthy and hot and you can do some things.

Compare to football where basically the whole team has to be good or else you're probably not going to be very good. You could take the best QB and put them on the worst team and they're still pretty bad.

Post game win expectancy was 68.4%, meaning if we play that game 100 times and both teams generate the same stats each time we would win 68 to 69 of them.

In the KSU game, our post game win expectancy was only 23.1% but we won that one. Every other game so far, the pgwe has aligned with the actual result.

SDSU, 100%
Iowa, 74%
Ark St, 99.1%
Arizona, 99.7%
Cincy, 0.8%

No freaking way Cincinnati wins 99 out of 100.

Its based on the stats that both team put up in the game. The key is what happens if the same stats are generated over and over. So not only is it 100 games, but its 100 games where they average 8 yards per play and we average 5.5. If you arrive at those kinds of discrepancies, no matter how you get there, you are not likely to win.

I had a wide range of interactions with CU fans on Saturday. Some were great, others were pretty awful. Not necessarily shocked by this video

I’ve been 3 football games and 1 basketball game in Boulder and fortunately never had any issues. But CU fans definitely have a reputation. From what I’ve gathered it’s mainly (not always) the students that misbehave.

Have some Husker fans in the family that have vowed to never go back to a game at Folsom. Granted, that’s a bit nastier rivalry than anything with ISU, but still.

I do agree that was probably a bottom 5 percentile performance by ISU, so in 100 games played "from scratch" we should win half.

That particular metric is useful to determine if one team really outplayed the other or if they just "got lucky." If you win but have a low post game win expectancy, it means you got outplayed in the things that correlate strongly with winning.

Who is our billionaire donor and why isn't he buying a better football team?

Half of the hok roach trolls, claim ISU is broke and cant keep up with them in their B1G superiority, The other half claim we have billionaires funding us causing us to continue to beat them.

These morons cant make up their minds what excuse they use.
