*** Official 2025 Chicago Cubs Thread***

Let's just hope Craig doesn't do something stupid with the lineup because of this. Don't care that Busch doesn't hit lefties as well, hes a hot bat right now take your chances with your best lineup.

Totally agree. Him having to hit a lefty in the 1st doesn't bother me as much as his spot not coming up in the 9th does.

That and Ashby is only a 1-2 inning pitcher so this is pretty much using him as an opener. The most innings he's thrown in a single game this season was 3.2, all other outings have been 2 or less innings. If Craig really let's that mind-eff him with his lineup card then we deserve to lose this game if the offense is a mess. Busch will likely not see him twice, hell move Nico to leadoff if you are that worried about Busch as he definitely won't see Ashby a 2nd time through the order if he'd down a few spots.

Honestly the Brewers are just using an opener for someone at this point so just stick your best lineup out there and don't worry about the righty/lefty matchup. Even if Busch K's to leadoff the game I'd rather have his glove at 1B than Turner to start the game. It's the damn playoffs, no more using kid gloves on guys you roll out your best lineup and let them play at this point.

That's correct. And with Quintana and Woodruff down..........have no idea who is going to start in Chicago game 3. Maybe Patrick. Murph is throwing stuff at the wall and see if it sticks. Outside of Peralta and Priester........we are in a world of hurt for starters.

I was a big fan of the Counsell hire. The shine as worn off for me this season. Busch not starting today aside (which I guess you can make an argument for), generally his in game decisions are pretty much always head scratchers.
